43.10 Mon-Fri •flexible to nights and weekends – The Automation Specialist takes a leadership role in maintainingand improving the performance of all Automation Specialistequipment throughout the plant. Position collaborates with peopleacross departments, functions, and levels. Position utilizes strongcommunication, analytical, mechanical, and troubleshooting skillsto drive continuous improvement and quickly resolve issues. – PRIMARY
ACCOUNTABILITIES
Become the plant expert on the overall operation andperformance of Automation Specialist equipment, including ongoingoperation and changeovers. Function as trainer, coach and mentor to employees operatingAutomation Specialist equipment on all lines across allshifts. Troubleshoot Automation Specialist issues (minor stops,defects, breakdowns) impairing Production Line’s ability to meetTargeted TE (True Efficiency) goals and work with front lineoperators and supervision to develop and implement correctiveaction plans to resolve ongoing issues. Provide leadership to the Automation Specialist work cells inan effort to continually improve overall performance capabilitiesand partner with Vendors/Suppliers, plant Maintenance andOperations. Review Automation Specialist CIL standards, Centerlinestandards and compliance on a daily basis and work with ProductionSupervisor to develop action plans to immediately addressgaps. Review and revise SOPs (Safety, Operation, Quality, Sanitation)as needed. Assist Operators and Mechanics with PM events and emergencyrepairs as needed. ssist operators in changeovers and work as an RCO (RapidChangeover) resource to improve on time to complete AutomationSpecialist changeovers. Attend performance review meetings and communicate downtimeissues along with SRC (Simple Root Cause) and correctiveaction. Ensure that Automation Specialist reapplications take placeacross the entire production floor to insure consistency. Serve as resource for the Automation Tech team and participatein team activities. Work with Maintenance to identify and audit equipment spareparts requirements. Provide Technical Support for Line TPM Teams by attending NWTand/or DDE/Drumbeat events. Support equipment operations by completing basic AM and/or PMactivities. Support equipment rebuild operations and package/productinnovation. Conduct group trainings as needed Operate Automation Specialist equipment as needed Participate on the Organizational Capability (OC) Team Utilize basic understanding of drives, lubricant, and fastenerswhen troubleshooting and performing tasks.
