Job Summary:

We are seeking a Testing Engineering Advisor with expertise in automation testing and a strong history of delivering high-quality, client-satisfying results. This role demands energy, strong communication, intelligence, and motivation to work on a high-priority, complex project. The ideal candidate will coordinate test activities, manage automation, ensure quality compliance, and serve as a subject matter expert to drive testing success for mission-critical systems—especially within the Veterans Affairs domain.

Job Responsibilities:

Coordinate with test sites and stakeholders to plan and execute test events
Develop and execute automated test cases using Selenium and Cucumber
Track and report issues, ensuring thorough documentation and resolution
Create and manage test plans, performing unit, regression, smoke, and other testing types
Triage defects to identify issues in requirements, design, testing, or code
Ensure stakeholder-approved acceptance criteria are testable and automated where possible
Assist in all testing documentation processes
Evaluate current test artifacts and independently design new test cases/scripts
Collaborate with developers, business analysts, and project managers to develop test strategie
Maintain requirements traceability to test cases and results under change control
Define testing scope for each build: unit, functional, system, usability, performance, etc.
Execute testing on both frontend and backend systems
Participate in estimations, planning, and quality risk analysis
Represent and advocate for the VA customer and Veterans as solution beneficiaries
Understand and adapt to evolving program goals and requirements
Work with leadership to meet quality expectations, delivery timelines, and SLAs
Identify project risks, recommend solutions, and drive continuous process improvement
Provide performance reviews, reports, and client-facing updates
Serve as SME to support successful testing solution implementations
Perform additional tasks as assigned by project leadership

Required Skills:

Minimum 2 years of automation testing experience with Selenium and Cucumber
Strong coordination and execution experience of test events based on defined plans
Proven ability to set up accurate and functional test environments
Hands-on experience in IT systems, hardware, software, and network testing
Skilled in writing detailed test plans and procedures
Proficiency in Jira and GitHub
Exposure to both large-scale and smaller IT projects
Familiarity with the complete SDLC, network engineering, and business process reengineering
Strong ability to identify/mitigate risks and manage cost, schedule, and performance

Preferred Skills:

Understanding of strategic planning and quality assurance best practices
Experience working with government clients or VA systems (a plus)
