Test Engineer Job Description As a Test Engineer, you will play a crucial role in testing vehicles and auxiliary gear both on the bench, in the tank, and at-sea. This position typically suits systems, roboticists, or ocean engineers who are adept at mission planning, execution, and post-mission analysis using tools such as Excel, MATLAB, and Python. You will leverage your multi-disciplinary knowledge to integrate, test, and troubleshoot assemblies. A comprehensive understanding of requirements management and traceability to test plans is essential, along with the ability to create detailed test plans and reports. Responsibilities Engage with clients to gather and understand their system requirements, ensuring that their needs are accurately captured and addressed. Perform detailed analysis of system requirements, translating client needs into technical specifications and actionable plans. Develop and execute comprehensive test plans to validate system performance against requirements, ensuring high-quality deliverables. Provide guidance and mentorship to junior engineers, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment. Create and maintain detailed documentation of system requirements, test plans, and evaluation results. Essential Skills Systems engineering expertise. Test & Evaluation skills. Documentation proficiency. Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. Minimum of 8 years of experience in systems engineering, with a focus on client interaction and requirements analysis. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Experience with test and evaluation methodologies and tools. Additional Skills & Qualifications Multi-disciplinary knowledge helpful to integrate assemblies, test assemblies, troubleshoot assemblies.
