Wells Fargo is seeking a Principal Engineer for the Wealth Investment Management Technology (WIMT) Platform Engineering team to drive the transformation of Performance Engineering and significantly improve engineering practices by optimizing processes, streamlining workflows, and developing new capabilities. This role requires significant interaction with various technical teams to oversee all performance testing deliverables and activities for large, highly complex programs. In this role, you will:

Act as an advisor to leadership to develop or influence applications, network, information security, database, operating systems, or web technologies for highly complex business and technical needs across multiple groupsLead the strategy and resolution of highly complex and unique challenges requiring in-depth evaluation across multiple areas or the enterprise, delivering solutions that are long-term, large-scale and require vision, creativity, innovation, advanced analytical and inductive thinkingTranslate advanced technology experience, an in-depth knowledge of the organizations tactical and strategic business objectives, the enterprise technological environment, the organization structure, and strategic technological opportunities and requirements into technical engineering solutionsProvide vision, direction and expertise to leadership on implementing innovative and significant business solutionsMaintain knowledge of industry best practices and new technologies and recommends innovations that enhance operations or provide a competitive advantage to the organizationStrategically engage with all levels of professionals and managers across the enterprise and serve as an expert advisor to leadershipWork hands-on with Performance Engineers to create Performance testing solutionsWork with CTO team to analyze results and debug various latency challengesCreate common Splunk, App Dynamics patterns, queries, and configurations which enables the entire Performance Engineering team to become efficientEnsure software systems and applications operate efficiently and meet performance requirements by designing, executing, and analyzing performance testsGuides team, provides technical direction, and acts as a mentor for other engineersLeads the resolution of complex and unique technical challenges, often involving cross-functional collaboration and in-depth analysis.

Required Qualifications:

7+ years of Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education7+ years of executing and leading Performance Testing 5+ years of scripting languages to create Performance testing utilities/reusable components2+ years of experience working with observability rules.

Desired Qualifications:

2+ years of executing Performance Testing in Data Center migration programs5+ years of experience with like LoadRunner and/or Jmeter/Blazemeter5+ years working with App Dynamics, Splunk or GrafanaKnowledge of Network infrastructure, Firewall, and Load BalancersKnowledge of OpenShift Container Platform (OCP) or other cloud experience like PCFAbility to interact with all levels of an organizationExcellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
