Jr Manual Firmware Tester Job Description Join a dynamic team in Raleigh, NC, as a Jr Manual Firmware Tester for a long-term project. This role offers a fantastic opportunity for an entry-level candidate with a technical Associate’s degree to gain valuable real-world experience in a high-tech environment. You’ll work onsite with a leader in IoT connected metering devices for the public utilities market, enjoying a comprehensive benefits package, including PTO and paid holidays. Responsibilities Execute test cases to ensure data accuracy, connectivity, and functionality. Identify and report firmware update issues, software bugs, and VPN connectivity problems. Collaborate with the development team to understand product requirements. Perform basic networking and programming tasks to support testing activities. Document test results and create detailed reports on findings. Participate in troubleshooting and triaging of issues with different teams to drive towards root cause identification and resolution. Ensure that testing activities are conducted in accordance with the testing strategy and plan. Essential Skills Associate’s degree in a technical field (e.g., Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering). Basic understanding of networking and programming concepts. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent attention to detail and ability to work independently. Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with testing tools and software. Knowledge of metering or software troubleshooting is a plus. Basic scripting knowledge (e.g., Python, Bash). Understanding of network protocols and connectivity troubleshooting.
