Test Engineer Job Description We are seeking a dedicated Test Engineer to develop and execute test procedures, perform electrical testing compliant with the
IEC-6100
series of EMC tests, and debug hardware and firmware components. The role involves component selection and requires familiarity with both AC and DC designs, utilizing schematics and layout tools for debugging purposes. Experience with power supplies, transformers, soldering, and PCB rework, as well as prototype and engineering tool assembly, is essential. Responsibilities Develop and execute comprehensive test procedures. Conduct electrical testing in accordance with
IEC-6100
series of EMC tests. Debug hardware and firmware components effectively. Select appropriate components for testing purposes. Utilize schematics and layout tools for debugging AC and DC designs. Work with power supplies and transformers. Perform soldering and PCB rework tasks. Assemble prototypes and engineering tools. Essential Skills Proficiency in electronics and electrical engineering. Experience with testing tools such as LabView, oscilloscopes, and multimeters. Ability to execute test plans on electronics. Experience in regulated environments (UL/Safety products preferred). Familiarity with high voltage electronics (120 and 240 VAC). Understanding of EMC testing procedures. Additional Skills & Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering. 4 years of experience in electronics testing environments. Functional safety testing experience preferred;
IEC-6100.
Experience with agency certifications like UL, TUV. Exposure to programming languages (C, C++, Python). Experience with automation tools (LabView or similar). EMC testing experience preferred. Knowledge of controls and motor loads is a plus. Work Environment This role is based onsite and involves working in a test lab alongside two other test engineers.
