We are lookingfor a Test Engineer to join our growing team in United States!
KeyResponsibilities:
Test Design & Execution:
Design, develop, andexecute detailed test cases based on system requirements andtechnical specifications. Perform functional, integration, andregression testing across DER components and subsystems. System ⪻otocol
Validation:
Validate communication between DER assets andgrid systems using protocols such as IEEE 2030.5, Modbus, DNP3, andOpenADR. Verify conformance to interconnection and grid codestandards (e.g., IEEE 1547, CA Rule 21).
Automation & Tools:
Develop and maintain automated test scripts using industry tools orcustom frameworks. Support continuous integration and testingpipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions).
Defect Reporting &Analysis:
Document and track defects, perform root cause analysis,and collaborate with development teams for resolution. Maintaincomprehensive test logs, status updates, and traceability matrices.
Performance & Security Testing:
Conduct basic load, latency, andfailover testing. Assist in testing security configurations andensuring data integrity and communication encryption whereapplicable.
Collaboration & Communication:
Work closely with systemarchitects, developers, and QA leads to align on testingobjectives. Participate in sprint planning, daily standups, andtechnical review sessions.
Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor’sdegree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or relateddiscipline.
Experience:
3 years in system, software, or hardwaretesting, preferably in the energy, utilities, or embedded systemsspace. Experience testing distributed systems or IoT/edge devicesis a strong plus.
Technical Skills:
Familiarity with DER systems,power systems communication protocols, and grid integrationstandards. Proficiency in scripting languages (Python, Bash) forautomation. Experience with tools such as Wireshark, Postman,Selenium, or SCADA test environments.
Soft Skills:
Stronganalytical and problem-solving skills. Clear written and verbalcommunication abilities. Comfortable working in cross-functionaland agile environments.
Must Have:
Network testing experience.
Utilities testing (preferably Exelon) exp.
PreferredQualifications:
Hands-on experience with DERMS, invertersimulators, or HIL (Hardware-in-the-Loop) platforms. Knowledge ofcybersecurity best practices in operational technology (OT).Understanding of regulatory frameworks (FERC, NERC
CIP, IEEE
).
