The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) is seeking a

SYSTEMS ANALYST III-ENT

to perform highly complex systems process analysis, design, and simulation across multiple platforms and/or cross-function in business areas. To perform process improvement and re-engineering with an understanding of technical problems and solutions as they relate to the current and future business environment. To develop innovative IT solutions for risky and demanding business situations. To function as a team leader and provide procedural and technical guidance to less experienced systems analysts. To function as a specialist in a particular aspect of systems analysis or as in integrator of analysis and design across technology platforms, business areas, or locations. To instruct and review the work of others. This position will commit to fostering an environment of heightened security following Information Technology Security Policies and participating in security training, such as Health Insurance Portability & Accountability Act (HIPAA) and Family Education Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), on an annual basis. Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, the following: Serve as the primary technical lead for cloud services to include underlying infrastructure, application services, customer collaboration, product selection, and deployment. Leads the integration of on-premise solutions with cloud-based technologies. Activities include analyzing cloud solutions, recommending design and architecture, and implementing solutions. Support virtualized server and container workloads. Participate in planning, design, and implementation of both new and refresh technologies. Contribute to miscellaneous aspects of infrastructure required to support business requirements and maintain the technology computing environment. (

Annual Salary:

$89,880 – $146,055) Qualifications Associate’s degree in Information Systems or a related field and eight (8) years of related experience required. Work experience may substitute for education requirement.

Preferred Skills:

Experience with the following technical skillsets: Strong knowledge of deploying and running services on IaaS or Sass providers (preferably Azure or AWS) Linux or Windows operating systems, associated tools, and related scripting languages Virtualization technologies such as VMWare or Hyper-V Container platform and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes. Security best practices and implementation for servers Working knowledge of networking and performance Strong background with standardization and automation Leading the automation effort of enterprise systems builds Experience with the following leadership skillsets: Process improvement Change Management.
