Configuration Management Specialist:

As a Configuration Management Specialist with Hexagon US Federal, you will support our Public Safety business unit in deploying Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) systems, hardware, and more to emergency management customers. You will be responsible for managing configuration items throughout their lifecycle, ensuring that all changes are systematically controlled and that configurations are accurate and up-to-date. Assignments may include developing and maintaining configuration management plans, managing software and hardware configurations, conducting audits, and providing support during deployment and maintenance phases. You may also travel to customer sites to provide onsite support and ensure compliance with configuration management policies and procedures. This job is for you if you: Are passionate about ensuring the integrity and reliability of complex systems through effective configuration management. Enjoy working in a dynamic environment supporting critical public safety operations. Have strong attention to detail and excel at organizing and tracking configuration items. Thrive in collaborating with cross-functional teams to implement best practices in configuration management. The ideal candidate will possess the following: 2-4 years of experience in configuration management of IT systems. Proficiency in configuration management tools and version control systems, including experience maintaining records for compliance and operational tracking. Familiarity with ITIL processes and best practices. Excellent attention to detail, with experience implementing change control procedures. Strong ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced environment. Experience working in Public Safety (Fire, EMS, Police) environments is a plus. What we are expecting from you (i.e., the qualifications you must have): Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent applicable experience. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, as it relates to conveying technical information internally and externally. Experience working within Change Control Boards (CCBs) Experience in managing repositories that track assets, configurations, and relationships across systems. Shares knowledge and assists others in the completion of their tasks to support team goals. Ability to keep abreast of changing software technology. Must be able to work both independently and as part of a geographically dispersed team with little supervision and guidance. Must be able to travel as needed to customer sites. Must be able to obtain Secret clearance.
