Job Summary:

The Business Systems Analyst I documents, installs, analyzes, and/or maintains operating system(s) used for the business purpose of assigned area. Provides technical support and training to users concerning system software and utilities. Serves as subject matter expert for system. Serves as liaison to the central Office of Information Technology (OIT) for advanced support needs.

Department Summary:

Coordinates with the Executive Director and Director of Operations to establish, maintain, and modify appropriate data management and reporting by users internal and external to the Career Center. Ensures databases contain only up-to-date student and employer information. Coordinates with vendors to ensure that the Career Center is using all of the system functionality. Acts as the primary contact for users when troubleshooting system functionality. Trains all users of Handshake and other systems. Develops training materials and instruction manuals for staff, students, and employers.
Oversees the First Destination data collection process to includes coordinating with campus entities to ensure that contacts are being made, monitoring the online system to respond to notifications, checking for data accuracy, and following up on inconsistencies. Compiles regular and ad hoc reports for government officials, system and university leadership, employers, and Career Center staff. Ensures that reports are clear and easily understandable to a variety of audiences. Completes required reporting for

NACE, US

News and World Report, and departmental accrediting agencies, among others.
Pulls monthly reports from the career management software and first destination system to guide Career Center operations. Analyzes survey data from Career Center visits, career events, and program evaluations and communicates results with career center staff to ensure that high-quality services are being provided to students and employers. Completes required training and promoting a safe, hospitable, and respectful workplace.

Required Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree; OR associate’s degree and two (2) years of IT experience; OR High school diploma or GED and four (4) years of IT experience.

Skills and Knowledge:

vanced Excel knowledge and skills including use of pivot tables, formulas, macros, etc. Knowledge and skills with Microsoft Office, PowerBI, Power Automate, Tableau and Qualtrics. Ability to learn new software programs quickly. Ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing. Strong mathematical aptitude and knowledge of statistical processes. Ability to prioritize and execute multiple projects simultaneously, work independently, and work collaboratively with professional colleagues. Ability to exercise attention to detail with a high level of accuracy without losing sight of the “big picture.” Demonstrates commitment to supporting all students.

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems, Operations Management, Library Information Sciences, Statistics, Mathematics or other related research or analytical fields of study; OR Master’s degree with relevant student or academic project experience. Two (2) years of related research or analytical experience. Experience with extracting data and creating reports that are accurate and meaningful.
