Expected Starting Hourly Range:

$29.82•$37.27 Provides routine operational and technical support and maintenance for department software applications and business systems not supported by the Information Technology Department. Installs, updates, tunes, and diagnoses internal and third-party software applications. Provides end-user support and training. Working Conditions Typical indoor office environment. Sitting for long periods of time, working on computer. Lifting equipment or supplies up to 25 pounds alone and up to 50 pounds with assistance. Position requires visual acuity and depth perception, as well as ability to hear and identify sounds. Occasionally required to work other than normal business hours. Job Description Essential Functions
These are intended only as illustration of various types of work performed. The omission of specific duties does not exclude them from the position. Provides routine operational and technical support and maintenance for assigned department’s software applications. Assists with installing, configuring, and testing system upgrades, vendor defect corrections and changes, new software, and new systems before installation to production environment. Assists with testing and implementation of databases and tools. Cleans and standardizes data. Researches errors and applies corrections. Provides routine application performance tuning, working closely with business systems support team and application vendors. Troubleshoots routine system issues and outages. Researches errors and applies corrections. Refers escalated issues to more experienced staff. Monitors process schedulers. May monitor software systems interfaces to ensure that interfaces exchange data properly. May participate in evaluations of vendor products. Manages user security. Creates user profiles. Sets access levels and passwords. Provides application assistance and training to end users. Assists with analyzing business processes and implementing business process changes. Creates and distributes routine ad hoc and scheduled reports. Maintains application, database, and interface documentation, as assigned. Assists with website administration and support for the Department. May monitor assignments of hardware, peripherals, and telecommunications equipment. May assist with annual asset inventory maintenance and verification. Maintains knowledge and understanding of current best practices, trends, laws, and issues affecting area of expertise. Upon approval, attends educational events that will increase professional knowledge and be otherwise beneficial to the County. Performs other related work (including weather or other extreme emergency duties) as required. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in business administration, computer science, information technology, or related field. One (1) or more years of work experience in system administration and support desired. Valid driver license required with valid Florida driver license required within 30 days of hire. A comparable combination of education, training, and work experience that provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this position may be substituted for the minimum qualifications.

Able to resolve routine situations and problems. General knowledge and understanding of troubleshooting techniques, process automation, and best practice approaches. Good knowledge and understanding of regulatory compliance necessary to successfully perform job responsibilities. Good knowledge and understanding of computer systems and software applications required to perform job duties. Good verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal skills in order to interact professionally and effectively with staff, management, vendors, and other stakeholders. Able to explain facts, policies, and practices. Capable of working with general supervision. In addition to the duties and responsibilities outlined above, certain positions will have additional duties as indicated below.

Building & Development Services Department:

Administers all department software applications with emphasis on the Accela Automation Land Use Management system including Accela Automation and Accela GIS. Assists with analyzing business processes and implementing business process changes.
