This person will be responsible for developing, auditing, monitoring and enforcing established release management processes and policies in support for completeness and consistency. Provide support to pre-production environments in a timely and efficient manner. Assist the release program activities and functions as a subject matter expert in release management. Act as the gatekeeper to the production environment, ensuring consistency in policies. Identify release management process improvements and work with management to implement process changes.

What You Will Do:

Facilitate, coordinate, and manage software changes, configurations, and the release function. Provide support to pre-production environments in a timely and efficient manner. Act as the gatekeeper to the production environment, ensuring consistency in policies. Identify release management process improvements and work with management to implement process changes. Monitor code through the various cycles of development (testing, staging, and production). Analyze code dependencies and move stable code to the appropriate environments. Ensure version control is applied to the correct code sets in different environments and develop automated configuration tests. Create deployment packages for hot fixes, mass pushes, Beta CD’s, and Release CD’s. Troubleshoot and review application logs, event viewers, and the registry. Coordinate releases to ensure that the integrity of the live environment is protected and that the correct components are released. Coordinate build and test environments teams and release teams. Collaborate with leaders and team members to design release processes from build, packaging, testing, defect fixing, and release of new or changed software. Drive technology release strategy, execution, and improvements across development life cycle. Collaborate with development, quality assurance, and operations teams to understand release requirements and dependencies. Develop and maintain release plans, timelines, and communication strategies to ensure stakeholders are informed and aligned. Conduct release readiness reviews, ensuring all necessary documentation, procedures, and approvals are in place. Sign off the release package for implementation. Monitor the efficiency and effectiveness of the release management process across Meridian and make recommendations for improvement. Maintain quality checks on releases and record those that directly or indirectly cause support incidents. Effectively communicate with team members of other departments, including Product and Technical Support. Develop scripts and automation tools used to build, deploy, and integrate software releases to multiple platforms. Manage risk and resolve issues that affect release scope, schedule, and quality. Contribute to the design of IT’s strategic direction for release management tools. Measure and monitor progress to ensure application releases are delivered on time, within budget, and meeting or exceeding expectations. Ensure the integrity of builds and artifacts to support successful production releases. Create and maintain documentation related to release processes. Facilitate release meetings, post-mortems, and retrospectives to gather feedback and improve release processes. Provide support and troubleshooting assistance during release activities to minimize downtime and impact on users. Contribute to strategy development across the team, while conducting work with a moderate degree of autonomy and providing guidance and mentorship to junior Release Analyst colleagues. Research and incorporate emerging software release trends, tools, innovations, and technologies. Represent the company at conferences and networking events. Travel as required. Any additional responsibilities assigned by management.

Qualifications:

Experience Four years of related release management experience required. Skills Knowledge in all areas of Release Management, including software testing concepts, techniques, practices, and procedures Familiarity with SQL and UNIX Familiarity with COBAL, JAVA, and .NET Proficiency in release processes and tools Ability to understand software deployment processes Ability to understand the prerequisites of software deployment before scheduling and understand the urgency of making sure that FTF requests are done in a timely manner Knowledge of Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), Windows Server (2008 R2 and 2016), and shell scripts Knowledge of databases such as Oracle 11g, 18c, and Microsoft SQL Server Ability to communicate proactively and understand release management short and long-term needs Ability to monitor, communicate, and escalate issues in a timely manner Ability to embrace learn and grasp new technologies, applications, and solutions Written and verbal communication skills Analytical and problem-solving capabilities Flexibility and ability to rapidly respond to changes Ability to contribute in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple, competing priorities Solution-oriented and proactive mindset with a willingness to learn Education Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Software Engineering, Computer Science, or related field required; equivalent professional experience may be considered for substitution for the required degree on an exception basis.
