About the Role The Senior Analyst role in Finance Systems Maintenance is responsible for supporting all areas of the financial systems with a specific focus on the

code block, master data and system processes in ECC/SAP and cFIN/HANA, supporting the National Grid Finance and Business Services organization. The potential candidate will partner with finance business partners and controllership, in identifying and capturing systems requirements, for code block, master data and process changes, and assist with solution recommendation, development and implementation. The Finance Systems Maintenance team is a support organization providing multiple aspects of system support, for data requests, end to end processes, technology upgrades, and new business functionality implementation, for the Finance community; the senior analyst will assist the team in maintenance and enhancements of National Grid’s SAP applications on a forward-thinking basis, ensuring compliance with regulatory, audit, and controls framework What You’ll Do
Responsible for supporting finance business users and controllership to clearly capture new requests for SAP finance code block, master data changes, for end-to-end

reporting and consolidation
Responsible for supporting accounting Cost Flow model and Master Data design and assist business users with appropriate application of the available SAP functionality to satisfy the business requirements
Assist in the monthly close process with a focus on proactively identifying and correcting accounting and system process issues to ensure a smooth and timely closing cycle
Respond timely and accurately to data and audit requests raised relative finance systems, and processes
Develop system documentation and support compliance requirements with finance systems audits and controls
Work with Finance and IT teams, business users and key finance team members on requests for SAP end to end process or design changes, to validate and ensure system configurations and enhancements meet compliance standards and mitigates control risks
Work with Payroll/Time Management/HRIS, Power-Plan, RCOE, R2R and Business Services teams in support of various finance transformation and technology initiatives
Provide governance and oversight for critical finance interfaces, including SAP batch process monitoring and resolution
Incident (Defect) resolution management. Respond timely and appropriately to request tickets raised by individuals or departments asking for assessments of a current situations occurring within the SAP or ancillary systems
Supports end-user in tracing transactions, and resolving system or module queries; including delivering requisite training to the end user so that they better understand system functionality and data flows
Partners with Finance users and participate on cross departmental teams on evaluating system enhancements and system maintenance for controls and process compliance for any identified SAP design gaps and desired refinements
Assists in the development of system process flows and controls with focus on continuous improvement, and refinement of current practices to industry best practice, and standard SAP configuration
Develop a familiarity with electric and gas utility accounting and finance requirements around internal management reporting, external financial reporting and regulatory reporting to continually improve system support
What You’ll Need
Bachelor’s Degree, Master’s Degree preferred with 5 years in MIS, Finance or IT with increasing responsibility and oversight in Financial Systems
Experience working with large ERP, accounting / finance systems, like SAP
Technical and functional proficiency in finance and accounting processes, transactions, modules and terminology
Strong hands-on knowledge of standard office productivity tools (MS Office components)
Strong problem-solving skills, experience reviewing and resolving data discrepancies
Effective collaboration, partnership, communication and project management capabilities
Basic understanding of Relational Database Management Systems and related data management concepts is required
Basic understanding of US GAAP, IFRS, FERC, Sarbanes-Oxley and SEC regulations
Basic understanding of financial Audit and Controls, and Risk Mitigation processes
Knowledge of relevant industry best practices, standards and regulations

LI-GAAP Annual Salary:

Brooklyn and surrounding area: $102,000-$120,000 Waltham and surrounding area; $95,000-$112,000 This position has a career path which provides for advancement opportunities within and across bands as you develop and evolve in the position; gaining experience, expertise and acquiring and applying technical skills. Candidates will be assessed and provided offers against the minimum qualifications of this role and their individual experience.
