Job Summary:
The Systems Programmer Analyst reports to the CIO and is responsible for providing the administration, development, and support for Methodist University’s Student Information System, Enterprise Resource Planning system, and associated web portals. The analyst will understand complex, mission critical administrative processes, such as admissions, registration, advancement, student life, and advising, and be able to apply technical expertise to the maintenance and improvement of the associated computing applications.
Essential Duties:
Provide application management and support for the University’s SIS and ERP system, provide web development for the student, staff, and faculty web portal, and collaborate with cross-department users and administrators involved in managing SIS/ERP and other university systems. Participate in ongoing support, training, troubleshooting, documentation, and enhancements for the SIS and ERP. Oversee student and business data, in coordination with MU’s Data Governance committee. Includes querying data from core business systems, moving data between systems and interfacing systems using APIs, and providing reports to data stakeholders. Works as part of larger cross-department teams to facilitate data usage across university systems. Work closely with the IT team to provide tiered application support and development. Maintain user access and permissions, troubleshoot application issues, and help to plan and implement new features and improvements to current features, etc. Identify and implement improvements in technologies, processes, and procedures through analysis of recurring issues. Participate in systems training and the creation of educational materials for technical and non-technical users.
Experience and Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related area. Basic experience with systems integration using APIs – REST, SOAP, and RPC. Basic experience with database administration and reporting. Experience with
