Working Title:
DOT Accounting Systems Analyst), you will be a key member of the Accounting Systems Unit, supporting the system enhancements, external interfaces with NCFS, maintenance, and optimization of accounting and budget processes within SAP. You’ll contribute to enterprise-wide accounting/budget process improvements, business process analysis, and reporting solutions while collaborating across functional areas and units within NCDOT and externally. The DOT Accounting Systems Analyst will provide support, analysis and expertise in the following areas: + Business Process Analysis + Analyze, document, and assess current accounting and budgeting processes with an entity-level focus. + Develop and maintain detailed process documentation sufficient to evaluate and align processes with business needs and best practices. + Contribute to risk analyses and recommend improvements to data governance, compliance, process efficiency, and opportunities for automation. + SAP Enhancements, Implementations, and Sustainment + Act as a superuser for
SAP S/4 HANA
financial modules. + Lead configuration, testing, data validation, and quality assurance for SAP upgrades and enhancements. + Collaborate cross-functionally to align system capabilities with regulatory and operational requirements. + Provide end user support, training, and feedback for SAP enhancements and implementations. + Ad Hoc Financial Reporting and System Support + Assist with internal and external ad hoc reporting needs. + Support end users with SAP-related inquiries and escalate complex issues to the

The successful candidate in this position will stay up-to-date with SAP advancements, governmental accounting pronouncements, and industry trends, and will take a continuous improvement approach to initiate enhancements to functionality and efficiency. The DOT Accounting Systems Analyst reports to the DOT Accounting Systems Supervisor. While not a fully remote position, workplace flexibility is allowed and encouraged.
