Object-oriented and scripting languages such as PHP, Python, and JavaScript

Modern development tools, such as continuous integration (CI), version control (e.g., Git), and virtual environments (e.g., Docker)
Relational database systems, such as PostgreSQL or MySQL
API integration
Project management
Library systems/applications
Educational technology
Content and/or course management systems, like Drupal or Moodle
Compliance with accessibility standards and experience with accessibility testing tools Essential Duties and Responsibilities Appalachian State University Libraries are essential teaching and research partners, inspiring and guiding all who pursue knowledge. The University Libraries wee nearly 800,000 visitors every year. We connect with the students, faculty, and staff of Appalachian State University as well asmunity members, researchers from all over the world, and K-12 school teachers. A large and vibrantanizationposed of 35 faculty and 50 staff, the Libraries are a partner in the campus learningmunity, providing access to collections, portals to information and texts, consulting services, new media and technology, engaging spaces and programs, and a curriculum focused on information literacy and research methods. The Library Systems Analyst provides point of contact and administration of multiple library software services and packages, and is responsible for in-house software development to support library functions.

Main duties and responsibilities include:

Administer and provide guidance for all systems used within the University Libraries;
Support existing library applications in consultation with colleagues and service users, including taking ownership of troubleshooting and enhancing functionality;
Collaborate and consult with students, faculty, and staff students to identify programming solutions to address library needs;
Evaluate and implement third party web-based applications and APIs to improve library services and operations;
Program custom functionality to enhance content and user interfaces;
W appropriate, design, develop, and maintain web-based applications to meet library and university needs;
Stay current with the latest trends and technologies, including AI applications and solutions;
Serve as a standing member of the Digital Library Services Council. Type of Position Full Time Position
