Job Description
The Application Systems Analyst III plays a key role in delivering advanced support for software upgrades, implementations, and ongoing maintenance. This individual serves as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) on complex projects and initiatives, representing the team with a high level of expertise. The role requires a deep understanding of the Epic application and associated operational workflows, along with a solid grasp of the clinical policies, procedures, and constraints relevant to the supported environment. This position specifically supports the Epic Inpatient Orders Team application.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTION/RESPONSIBILITIES
Partners with key clinical and operations staff to assist in the development of efficient workflows Lead analysis of workflows, system details and technical issues associated with the Epic IP Orders Application Scopes multiple major and minor enhancements in accordance with ISS standards and best practices Analyzing new functionality and recommends how it should be used to prioritize and implement requested changes to the system Troubleshooting problems and questions from end users. Provides support of daily and ad-hoc requests. Drives changes and makes recommendations to leadership regarding ISS processes, change management and operational workflows Solving highly complex problems and develops solutions to tasks or projects which may be unique, using judgment and initiative Perform system build and maintenance in the Epic IP Orders application Involved in multi-team and integrated solution development In addition: Problem Solving Demonstrates advanced troubleshooting and resolution skills. Serves as an escalation point and subject matter expert. Collaborates with analysts as needed. Technical Skills Applies in-depth knowledge of PCs, peripherals, servers, and networks to resolve complex, multi-layered application issues. Communication Communicates clearly and effectively with peers, management, and customers. Leads during escalations, facilitates change management, and adheres to email etiquette. Implementation Coordinates with vendors and internal teams for software implementations, upgrades, and optimizations. Actively contributes to cross-functional IT projects. Prioritization Manages time, tasks, and multiple projects independently and efficiently. Documentation Maintains clear, concise documentation for support tickets, system tasks, and audits. Recommends improvements and follows organizational policies. Customer Support Provides timely, effective support. Builds strong customer relationships and aligns solutions with business needs. Teamwork & Collaboration Works independently and under pressure. Collaborates across teams with minimal supervision. Leadership Mentors peers and represents the team in meetings, embodying PRIDE values. Drive Self-motivated and decisive. Prioritizes tasks and small projects with minimal oversight.
Education and Training:
Bachelor’s Degree in Healthcare Administration, Public Health, Healthcare Informatics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related healthcare field; or equivalent experience. EpicCare Inpatient Procedure Orders certification required . ITIL Foundation certification preferred (or must be obtained after hire). Design and configuration experience in Epic Clinical applications preferred . Experience building Orders, Order Sets, and Preference Lists required . Familiarity with Med Rec and EKG workflows. Strong organizational and time management skills. Demonstrated creative thinking and proactive problem-solving abilities.
Experience:
Minimum of 3 years in information technology or a relevant area within healthcare. Hands-on experience with Epic Inpatient Orders build and configuration. Experience with Epic Releases, Upgrades, and Data Courier. Experience with change control processes. Comprehensive knowledge of clinical practices and principles. Proven ability to gather and analyze information from multiple sources to develop efficient workflows. Skilled in process analysis, current/future state workflow mapping, and gap analysis. Strong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with clinicians, operational leaders, and IT teams. Prior healthcare experience preferred.
Project Management Skills:
Ability to manage small to medium-scale projects using introductory project management methodologies. Adheres to ISS project management protocols and standards. #LI-AW1
