Job Related Minimum Required Education and Experience Requires a bachelor’s degree in a job related field and 5 or more years of job related experience, which may be substituted by an equivalent combination of job related certification, training, education, and/or experience.

Required Certification, Licensure/Other Credentials Preferred Qualifications Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Knowledge:

Strong understanding of student information systems ( SIS ) such as Banner and PeopleSoft. Knowledge of higher education processes , including admissions, registration, financial aid, and student records management. Familiarity with data governance, security, and compliance (e.g., FERPA, GDPR, HIPAA as applicable). Understanding of enterprise applications and integrations , including APIs, databases, and reporting tools. Awareness of IT service management ( ITSM ) best practices , such as ITIL frameworks.

Skills:

Project management skills , including the ability to lead cross-functional teams, manage timelines, and deliver complex IT projects. Problem-solving and analytical skills to troubleshoot issues, optimize processes, and improve student systems functionality. Technical proficiency in SQL, reporting tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI), and scripting or automation (where applicable). Change management skills , including the ability to assess risks, communicate effectively, and ensure user adoption of new systems. Vendor management skills , including evaluating, negotiating, and managing relationships with software providers.

Abilities:

Ability to translate business needs into technical solutions and vice versa, acting as a liaison between IT and student services teams. Strong ability to analyze and interpret data to drive decision-making and improve student experiences. Ability to lead training and support efforts to ensure end-users can effectively utilize student systems. Ability to collaborate with institutional leadership to align technology solutions with strategic goals. Ability to prioritize multiple projects and adapt to shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment.
