MIS Job Statement Administer and support software applications maintained by Huntsville Utilities by applying functional knowledge and technical expertise in the implementation and support of ERP business applications. Primary responsibility encompasses the review of application design, application configuration, enhancement development, deployment of vender upgrades/releases, user training, resolving help desk issues, and all aspects of solution testing. Work is performed independently or in conjunction with other technical staff and requires a large degree of initiative and judgment. Work is reviewed for adherence to policies, procedures and for results achieved. Essential Duties Serves as primary in-house point of contact for users of Utility business applications, including but not limited to all areas of ERP. Design, document, and implement unit, integration, and regression test plans to ensure the accuracy of configuration and program modifications. Interface with business process owners to facilitate process improvement through enhanced or new application functionality. Independently prepares estimates of effort to develop and execute approved application changes and facilitates peer and user review of deployed changes. Prioritizes work assignments to ensure project deadlines are met. Serves as subject matter expert for the assigned ERP application(s). Participates in user functional and technical specification creation. Participates in system integration, performance, and acceptance testing. Documents all application and configuration related changes in the prescribed change management tool. Creates, or supports creation of, required reports in response to business user needs. Additional Duties Develops and provides user documentation, individual coaching, and training. Defines and implements process improvement measures within the environment. Ensures all proper change management and problem management processes are followed. Applies functional knowledge and technical expertise in the implementation of configuration changes and maintenance of software applications. Ensures utilization of efficient and effective processes and standards in order to continuously improve the quality of processes, products and services. Works creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment. Performs and supports ERP batch processing requirements. Maintains and supports company forms inventory. Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements Education/Training/Certifications:

High School diploma or equivalent required. Associate degree is required.

Experience/Skills:

Minimum four (4) years of experience in ERP applications required, experience in ERP Utility billing, Device Management, Customer Service, Procurement, Financials, Inventory and AMI preferred. OR In lieu of degree minimum six (6) years of experience in ERP application is required, experience in ERP Utility billing, Device Management, Customer Service, Procurement, Financials, Inventory and AMI preferred.

Additional Requirements Equipment:

PC (hardware and software), telephone. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and operating systems.

Physical Demands/Environmental Conditions:

Primary performs sedentary activities in an office environment; some tasks require repetitive motion over an extended period of time.

Other:

On-call availability, work in a team environment, striving to facilitate a cooperative and collaborative work environment within this and other Utility departments. The ability to effectively communicate, both orally and in writing, and to translate technical terminology in terms understandable to non-technical employees.
