IT Systems Analyst
Jacksonville, Florida Job duties:
- Implementing and adhering to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services regulations, standards and mandates related to medical claims processing services;
- Ensuring adherence to and maintenance of data security, preventing corruption of data and illegal and unauthorized access to the data that is being accessed and handled through different systems being developed or maintained;
- Leading efforts; overseeing work results and mentoring other IT Systems Analysts;
- Determining system components, functional flow of components and data moving between components;
- Analyzing business requirements to determine technical requirements and identify impacted areas, systems and processes.
- Evaluating and proposing alternative solutions and the best-suited technology to meet the business requirements;
- Collaborating with the Operational Business staff and IT staff in the functional design and development of system requirements to ensure both fulfill the business and technical requirements for new products/functionality and enhancements to existing products/functionality;
- Collaborating and communicating with vendors participating in design, development and testing of products;
- Assessing systems as business direction changes for impacts to existing designs and understanding impacts and making recommendations to determine best solution;
- Advocating effective solutions that are flexible to accommodate future enhancements;
- Using System Development Life Cycle processes and associated tools and analyzing current system targeted for replacement/enhancement to determine business and technical functions to be included in design;
- Facilitating with other IT staff and Operational Business Staff to follow a systematic process for capturing requirements in a standard format that can serve as the foundation for developing technical documentation;
- Providing input into forecasting and project-planning for scope/requirements documents and/or vendor contracts to minimize risk to on time, cost effective solution fulfillment;
- Preparing high level proposals that identify viable options to address the client’s needs;
- Developing and documenting vetted contingency plans in case of risks or roadblocks;
- Leading in positive relationship building and consensus between Business, IT teams and Business Relationship Managers;
- Linking the IT solution to the business vision/strategy while coaching junior analysts to help them understand the business priorities;
- Reviewing final design documents to ensure that they clearly explain the work expectations;
- Validating the design documentation with the business staff, vendors and technical teams and receiving approval on these documents;
- Preparing technical documentation and deliverables including flow charts, models, procedures, user guides, scorecards and reporting;
- Preparing detailed test scenarios and assisting in test execution for various system components; and
- Providing consultative support for the systems within their product family and assisting in research and designing solutions for general maintenance requests to resolve system problems.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in any Computer, Engineering or Business field and 6 or more years of progressive work experience in the job offered, or in a testing or related role or a Master’s Degree in any Computer, Engineering or Business field and 4 or more years of work experience in the job offered, or in a testing or related role
- Experience with requirements gathering methodologies and System Development Life Cycle
- Experience with Project Management Methodologies
- Experience with executing business requirements in accordance with laws that govern the Healthcare Industry
- Experience preparing test scenarios
- Experience designing flow charts and models
- Experience using Agile methodology
- Experience with HP ALM Software Tool
- Experience with HP ALM Defects tracking tool
- Experience testing Mainframe applications
- Experience testing Web services applications using SOAP UI, XML and WSDL
- Experience defining Testing strategies and designing Test Plans
- Experience with Backend testing and DB2 Database Validation using Quest Central and Data Studio
- Experience with JAWS testing
- Experience with Visio tool
