POSITION SUMMARY

The Pharmacy Analyst is responsible for the implementation, configuration, testing, training, ongoing support, and optimization of

MEDITECH

Pharmacy applications within a multi-hospital health system. This role ensures seamless integration, data integrity, and efficient system functionality, working closely with various departments, including finance, clinical operations, and reporting teams. This individual plays a critical role in collaborating with hospital and corporate counterparts to define and develop the structure and solutions for the

MEDITECH

Pharmacy (PHA) application within the HSA environment. They contribute to both the initial design and ongoing maintenance of solutions that support evolving operational needs. Key responsibilities include mapping process flows, analyzing business requirements, and delivering comprehensive solutions that align with operational, financial, and regulatory standards.

  • This is a fully remote position, with minimal travel required for production deployment events, periodic training sessions, and meetings.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Provide technical support, troubleshooting, and system enhancements for the

MEDITECH

Pharmacy (PHA) application. Assist with configuration, implementation, and optimization of the organizational structure for future-state acquisitions. Configure and update

MEDITECH

dictionaries and tables to support administrative, financial, and clinical workflows. Utilize an issue tracking system to monitor incoming requests and ensure timely resolution in accordance with service standards. Ensure data integrity, system security, and compliance with financial regulations and healthcare standards. Collaborate with hospital-based HSA resources to support efficient pharmacy operations across multiple facilities. Coordinate with vendors on system updates, troubleshooting, performance monitoring, and testing of new functionalities to support smooth adoption of enhancements. Develop and maintain user training materials, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and technical documentation to enhance cross-departmental system utilization. Participate in a rotating 24x7x365 support schedule with the analyst team. Maintain and support electronic medication administration workflows, ensuring alignment with BMV (Bedside Medication Verification) and order entry systems. Support formulary management, medication dictionaries, and drug-drug/allergy interaction data configurations. Assist pharmacy leadership with regulatory readiness efforts (e.g., DEA, Joint Commission, USP ) by validating system configurations and audit trails. Work with clinical informatics and decision support teams to implement and monitor medication-related clinical decision support (CDS) rules. Perform validation testing and change control activities for

MEDITECH

Pharmacy software updates and integrated solutions (e.g., IV compounding systems, dispensing cabinets, barcode scanning tools). Participate in pharmacy automation initiatives and third-party system integrations (e.g., Omnicell, Pyxis, pharmacy inventory systems). Perform other duties as assigned.

EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor’s degree in IT, Pharmacology, Healthcare Informatics, or a related field (Preferred) 3+ years of experience supporting

MEDITECH

Pharmacy applications in a healthcare environment. Experience working in a hospital environment Knowledge of

Independent thinker who effectively solves problems and develops solutions while working collaboratively with others. Strong verbal and written communication skills for working with multidisciplinary teams and end-users. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and healthcare facilities simultaneously while maintaining a high standard of work quality. Advanced analytical skills with a focus on problem-solving, process improvement, and workflow optimization. Ability to collaborate across departments and communicate technical solutions effectively. Knowledge of financial regulations, healthcare compliance standards, and data security best practices to ensure adherence to industry requirements. Familiarity with pharmacy automation technologies and integration workflows (e.g., Omnicell, Pyxis, IV compounding systems). Understanding of medication-related clinical decision support (CDS) configuration, drug interaction alerts, and formulary management within

MEDITECH.

Ability to support system testing and validation related to medication safety, barcoding, and order verification workflows. Experience with pharmacy readiness for regulatory audits (e.g., DEA, USP , Joint Commission).
