Duties:

Sr IT Security Analyst The IT Security Senior Analyst is responsible for leading the facilitation, evaluation and implementation of information security related policies, procedures, standards and technical controls across UNMC/Nebraska Medicine. Leads the monitoring and incident response functions of the Security Operations Center. Assists in the goal, strategy, methodologies and outcomes on the UNMC/Nebraska Medicine Information Security Program. Responsible for leading and mentoring the IT Security Analysts and Interns.

Required Qualifications:

Sr IT Security Analyst

  • Minimum 5 years of Information Technology experience required
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in information assurance, Information Sciences or related IT field of study, or equivalent combination of education/experience combined required (one year of experience equals one year of education).
  • Microsoft Office Suite knowledge required.
  • Advanced certification such as CISSP or SANS required.
  • Documented experience solving complex IT problems using standards such as MITRE Attack, NIST, etc. required.
  • Working knowledge of vulnerability assessment and information security practices and systems such as computer forensics, intrusion detection systems and firewall technologies required.
  • Strong interpersonal customer service skills, including the ability to explain complex procedures in writing or verbally required.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills required.
  • Basic understanding of managing project deadlines required.
Preferred Qualifications:

Sr IT Security Analyst

  • Master’s degree in information assurance or related information technology field preferred.
  • Knowledge of risk assessment methodologies preferred.
