Position Summary:

To perform all related activities for configuring, supporting, coordinating, troubleshooting, administering, and maintaining the systems and software that use medical images. i.e. PACS and other associated applications. This includes preparing images for display (DPs), digital archiving and electronic exchange and assuring the quality control of medical diagnostic images and files. This role is also responsible for working with interface/integrations engineers, assisting in network connectivity, configuration, and support as well as diagnosing, repairing, maintaining, and upgrading all PACS associated hardware and software, while ensuring its optimal performance. Understand all data flows for imaging as well as the data flows of all systems that support the main imaging systems. Consults directly with vendors, clinical and business users, other IT team members and provides support and training to end users to ensure reliable application system use, availability, and performance.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Responsible for the day to day administration, maintenance and troubleshooting of the enterprise PACS, voice recognition reporting systems, and other systems that use medical images or their exchange. Provide end user support and training on all medical imaging applications/solutions and troubleshoots/resolves issues either independently or with other IT team members or vendor support. Works with other IT team members and operational staff/end users and vendors on installations, testing and upgrades Communicates with end users to determine PACS needs, business requirements, workflow, and functional specifications Installs and maintains imaging workstation hardware and software Knowledge of current imaging protocols and HL7 standard and assists in the monitoring and troubleshooting of HL7 messaging between clinical systems Communicate with end users to determine RIS and PACS needs, business requirements, workflow, and functional specifications Develops processes to improve end user workflow, including developing, maintaining, and communicating of downtime procedures Determines corrective action for various informatics issues In depth knowledge of various radiology modalities and imaging informatics Extensive experience troubleshooting complex IT issues

Minimum Qualifications:
Education/Licensing/Certification:

4-year degree in computer science or related informatics field or equivalent experience Radiology Technology or IT/Informatics degree/Training or CIIP. Computer skills – proficiency in Microsoft Products (Office 365, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio) Ability to adapt and learn multiple clinical applications Ability to work in and support multiple systems.

Preferred experience with the following:

Change Healthcare (McKesson) Pacs, Merge, Carestream, Powerscribe, and Powershare. Preferred experience in clinical process analysis, design, and improvement. Preferred experience in training clinical technology software. 1-3 years implementing and maintaining enterprise level PACS infrastructure and operational excellence

Knowledge and Skills:

Excellent customer service and communication skills (verbal and written) with internal/external customers and coworkers. Demonstrate ability to multitask while working independently or collaboratively and ability to adapt to shifting priorities, demands, and timelines. Strong ability to appropriately handle confidential and sensitive information. Strong ability to identify potential issues and participate in their resolution. Proven analytical and problem-solving skills. High level understanding of technical interfaces and architecture for clinical apps Commitment to continuous learning and personal development. Ability to work with multiple teams and personalities. Commitment to continuing education on the various clinical applications/ product lines.

Physical Requirements and Work Environment:

Computer desk with multiple applications running at once. Overtime may be required if IT downtimes have created patient backlogs. Also, OT may be required when covering for the Clinical Application Support person. Otherwise- 8a-5pm M-F. Able to travel to company clinic locations as needed to perform training, support, technical work, issue resolution and company meetings as needed. Shared coverage of on call 24 hours/7 days a week Occasional lifting and transporting of servers and workstations
