Role and Responsibilities Technical Support:
Resolve escalated helpdesk tickets promptly and thoroughly including automated alerts/reports. Provide advanced troubleshooting for hardware, software, and network-related issues, both remotely and onsite. Administer Windows and Linux server environments, including installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting. Manage and maintain network infrastructure, including switches, routers, firewalls, Wi-Fi, and VLANs. Perform hardware installations, system configurations, and updates as needed. Manage and troubleshoot cloud-based infrastructure and services (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud). Apply knowledge of virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V) and containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) to resolve client needs. Implement and support backup and disaster recovery solutions, ensuring best practices are followed. Develop and maintain scripts for automation and improved efficiency (e.g., PowerShell, Bash). Other Technical Support Activities as assigned. Process and Documentation Use the ticketing system to manage, update, and resolve escalated service requests and helpdesk tickets. Maintain accurate and up-to-date client and internal documentation. Ensure tickets are handled efficiently, escalating further only when necessary. Review RMM dashboards and implement remediation actions as defined by processes. Other Process and Documentation activities as assigned. Mentor and guide Technical Solutions Specialist to support their growth and ensure high team performance. Assist in project delivery, both remotely and onsite, and provide technical expertise as needed. Identify opportunities for process improvements and contribute to innovative solutions. Other Team Collaboration and Leadership activities as assigned. Identify, communicate, and mitigate potential risks to clients and management. Other Compliance and Best Practices activities as assigned. Required skills and qualifications Advanced troubleshooting skills and a passion for solving complex IT challenges. Proficiency in administering Windows and Linux server environments. Strong understanding of networking principles and managing network infrastructure. Experience with cloud platforms, virtualization technologies, and containerization tools. Familiarity with backup and disaster recovery best practices. Proficiency with scripting and automation tools (e.g., PowerShell, Bash). Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a focus on client satisfaction. Experience working in a helpdesk or MSP environment. Strong organizational skills and the ability to mentor junior team members effectively. Within the first year of employment, successfully achieve MS-900 (Microsoft 365 Fundamentals) certification. A valid and clean Louisiana driver’s license. Experience using a Ticketing system / RMM Tool and PSA software. Experience providing support via remote tools. Professional IT Certifications such as Microsoft MCP, MCSA or MCSE, ITIL, ITSM, etc. Client Experience Certifications such as Helpdesk Habits etc. Experience working for a Managed Service Provider (MSP) / IT Support business. Familiarity with security frameworks and best practices, such as
NIST, CIS
Controls, or ISO 27001, and experience implementing security measures in IT environments. Experience with documentation tools and platforms for creating and maintaining technical and process documentation (e.g., Hudu, SharePoint, ITGlue). Physical demands/WORK
