Job Summary:
Job Description Oracle Transportation Management (OTM) and Global Trade Management (GTM) are the leading applications in the logistics Industry. OTM manages the transport of orders, efficiently planning and monitoring of shipments, and optimizing shipping options across all modes. GTM helps to comply with global and regional trade specifications by classifying goods and handling screening for restricted parties, sanctions, and embargoes. As a support engineer, you will be supporting both an on premise and a cloud version of these products. As a member of the Support organization, your focus is to deliver post-sales support and solutions to the Oracle customer base while serving as an advocate for customer needs. This involves resolving post-sales non-technical customer inquiries via phone and electronic means, as well as, technical questions regarding the use of and troubleshooting for our Electronic Support Services. A primary point of contact for customers, you are responsible for facilitating customer relationships with Support and providing advice and assistance to internal Oracle employees on diverse customer situations and escalated issues. Responsibilities As a Principal Support Engineer, you will offer strategic technical support to assure the highest level of customer satisfaction. A primary focus is to create/utilize automated technology and instrumentation to diagnose, document, and resolve/avoid customer issues. You are expected to be an expert member of the technical problem solving/problem avoidance team, routinely sought after to address extremely complex, critical customer issues. Services may be frequently provided by on-site customer visits.
Technical skills:
Analyzing thread dumps for application and JVM performance issues Able to gather and read thread stack traces to investigate root causes of issues such as JAVA software code defects and performance issues. Basic understanding and usability of JVM analytical tools to analyze Java Flight Recordings and JVM heap dumps such as Java Mission Control and Eclipse MAT Basic knowledge of multi-threaded Java applications with basic knowledge of thread tuning and cache tuning Knowledge of SQL and PL/SQL with experience in writing SQL to drive an investigation or solution. Able to effectively work with large log file sets that can span multiple files, perform analysis on large log file sets and effectively trace processes through application logs as well as the technical stack diagnostic logs such as Java thread tracing and WebLogic diagnostic logging Understanding of integration concepts and experience working with Web Services and REST Services Experience working with middleware systems such as OIC to troubleshoot integration issues between systems Able to effectively work with XML and JSON interfaces Experience using integration tools such as Postman or SOAPUI Experience working with Oracle databases and reading
AWR/ADDM
reports as well as analyzing database explain plans and trace files for SQL performance issues
Added Functional/Business:
Experience with a logistic application – in particular, Oracle Transportation Management and/or Global Trade Management Experience in the logistics industry
