Technical Consultant ESRI $82,160-$138,320 USD life insurance, vacation time, paid holidays, 401(k), relocation assistance United States, Missouri, St. Charles Jun 22, 2025 Overview A Technical Consultant will work directly with customers to define and implement advanced ArcGIS enterprise systems through Professional Services engagement activities. A Technical Consultant will work closely with Esri customers, distributors, and partners to establish solutions to make customers successful, broaden the effect of Esri technology to their business and help shape the evolution of Esri products by identifying new implementation patterns. In addition, a Technical Consultant will participate in and serve the Esri community with a diverse scope of platform configurations and projects. Esri has a Relocation Assistance Program and can provide support with relocating to the St. Louis, MO area for this position. Responsibilities Manage a complex and diverse scope of Professional Services engagements, projects, and programs to implement ArcGIS
Contribute and provide strategic direction for internal Professional Services teams during all phases of ArcGIS implementation including requirements, analysis, design, build/configuration, and deployment
Manage the scope, schedule, and budgets of projects to provide Professional Services customers with meaningful solutions that respond to their user needs
Demonstrating good judgement, advise customers on innovative and creative solutions using Esri technology and content to help them make better decisions
Recommend relevant strategies, architectures, and solutions and work with customers to prepare Esri software implementation and migration strategies
Effectively communicate the value of proper system engineering practices that ensure the health and security of customers’ investment in Esri’s products and services by creating outstanding proposals and winning work with strategic customers
Provide business development support toward technology and Esri software implementation patterns with new and existing customers
Collaborate with Esri’s practice managers and marketing and sales team to develop new business
Act as a resource for colleagues with less experience and other technical staff Requirements Visa sponsorship is not available for this posting. Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the US.
5+ years of professional experience in GIS project management and/or GIS consultancy
Proven ability to design, implement, and/or administer enterprise GIS solutions/systems that leverage Esri software products
Evaluate and translate customer’s business goals, objectives, and strategies into technical and creative plans and solutions using Esri products
Employ scripting and query languages such as SQL, Python, JavaScript, etc. to automate repetitive tasks, create web mapping applications, and/or interrogate spatial data
Strong project management skills with the ability to deliver complex projects on time and within budget
Demonstrated professional experience in communicating technical ideas effectively and clearly to technical peers, project managers, and Professional Services customers
Proven ability to develop project designs, work plans, budgets, and schedules
Strong understanding of Esri software products and how they relate to customers’ needs
Knowledge of current technology implementation patterns that leverage Esri software products including cloud and service-oriented architecture
Engage, collaborate, and facilitate with customers, internal and external teams, and stakeholders
Assist in preparing proposals, including preparing executive summaries, solution definition, scope of services, staffing, and pricing
Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Mathematics, Geographic Information Systems (GIS) or related STEM field Recommended Qualifications Knowledge of and experience with software engineering and/or robust application development principles and practices
