MS 39157. GENERAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The Technical Data Analyst will work under the supervision of the Programming Department VP of Software Development and Senior Project Manager. This is a mid-level role. Assigned work will help to broaden the Technical Data Analyst experience and system analyst skills. To perform the job successfully, the employee must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Collaborate with stakeholders, project managers, and business analysts to gather data requirements and define analytical objectives. Design data solutions and workflows based on requirements, including data pipelines, models, and reporting structures. Provide input on strategic data planning, including data governance, quality, and roadmap development. Develop automated data processes to streamline data collection, transformation, and reporting. Ensure data integrity, accuracy, and security across data systems and analytics platforms. Create detailed documentation including data dictionaries, data flow diagrams, and ETL mappings. Communicate progress, insights, risks, and issues related to data initiatives with stakeholders and leadership. Coordinate data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) activities from various sources into target systems or data warehouses. Evaluate and mitigate risks associated with data quality, privacy, and compliance. Manage timelines and delivery of data projects, ensuring milestones are met. Implement best practices in data architecture, governance, and analytics. Troubleshoot and resolve data-related issues during development and production. Collaborate with development teams to integrate data sources and optimize data infrastructure. Partner with cross-functional teams to align data solutions with business goals and KPIs. Work with developers to ensure accuracy and performance in implemented data solutions. Facilitate data discovery workshops and analysis sessions with business users. Provide ongoing support for data platforms, dashboards, and reports, including root cause analysis. Monitor data pipeline performance and recommend improvements or scalability options. Provide advanced analytical support for complex data inquiries and predictive modeling efforts. Participate in data governance and compliance efforts, including audits and data retention policies. Create and deliver data-driven presentations, visualizations, and dashboards to stakeholders and executives. Coordinate with QA teams to ensure validation and accuracy of data across systems. Deliver training and support for business users on reporting tools and data interpretation. Mentor junior data team members on technical skills and best practices in data analysis.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

The ideal candidate for this position would have the following required experience as follows: Bachelor’s degree in a Computer Programming or related field or equivalent work experience. Proficient in analyzing business requirements and translating them into technical specifications. Ability to translate business needs into data solutions. Collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical teams. Ability to create technical and non-technical documentation. Experience with system modeling, data flow diagrams, and use case analysis. Experience in working with various stakeholders, including business users, developers, and management. Strong interpersonal skills to facilitate effective communication and collaboration. Ability to present technical information to non-technical stakeholders in a clear and concise manner. Experience in managing or coordinating technical projects. Ability to adapt to changing technologies and evolving business needs. Proven ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment. Proficiency at writing SQL queries and validating SQL query results. Must understand HIPAA rules that apply to dealing with sensitive data. The ideal candidate for this position would have the following preferred experience as follows: 5+ years hands-on experience with transact languages such as SQL, linq, Python, or similar.). Knowledge of Data visualization tools : Power BI, Tableau, Looker, etc. Ability to analyze large datasets to derive insights and support decision-making.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT

Must have the ability to work independently while practicing effective time management skills. Must be able to prioritize work on multiple projects and meet project deadlines in an organized manner. Must possess excellent problem-solving skills and have keen attention to details. Strong written and verbal communication, interpersonal, and relationship building skills are required. Must be able to handle high priority time sensitive work items.
