With nearly 6,000 employees, DEP operates the largest municipal water and wastewater utility in the U.S. About BWT The Bureau of Wastewater Treatment (BWT) operates and maintains critical wastewater infrastructure across all five boroughs, including 14 Wastewater Resource Recovery Facilities, over 90 pumping systems, combined sewer overflow facilities, and more. BWT is undergoing a digital transformation focused on four pillars: SCADA Support and Development, IT Support and Cybersecurity, Asset Management, and Application Development. This transformation aims to modernize operations and improve resilience, efficiency, and data-driven decision-making. The Bureau of Wastewater Treatment (BWT) is currently implementing a modernized Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to enhance asset management, streamline operations, and improve data-driven decision-making across all 14 wastewater treatment plants. We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Data Analyst to join the Asset Management Section to support the successful implementation of the CMMS system. The selected candidate will play a critical role in managing, analyzing, and maintaining asset data, ensuring data accuracy, and supporting system configuration, migration, and reporting efforts. Key Responsibilities will include but not limited to: Assist in the collection, cleansing, validation, and migration of asset and maintenance data into the new CMMS system. Collaborate with stakeholders to define data standards, workflows, and reporting requirements. Analyze large datasets to identify data gaps, inconsistencies, and opportunities for improvement. Support development and testing of data models, dashboards, and performance metrics. Develop and maintain documentation for data processes, system configuration, and user guidelines. Provide end-user support and training on data entry, reporting tools, and system best practices. Coordinate with IT, engineering, and plant operations teams to ensure data integrity and alignment with operational needs. Generate periodic reports and dashboards to support performance tracking, compliance, and strategic planning.

IT AUTOMATION AND MONITORING E
  • 95712 Minimum Qualifications 1.

A baccalaureate degree in computer science, engineering or a related field from an accredited college and four years of satisfactory full-time experience related to IT automation engineering, monitoring engineering, management of infrastructure; or 2. Eight years of satisfactory full-time experience related to IT automation engineering, monitoring engineering, management of infrastructure; 3. Education and/or experience which is equivalent to “1” or “2” above. Preferred Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field.
  • Proven experience with data analysis, data management, and business intelligence tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Excel).
  • Familiarity with CMMS platforms (e.g., Infor, Maximo, Cityworks, or similar).
  • Strong knowledge of SQL, data querying, and relational database structures.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience working in public utilities, wastewater treatment, or asset management is a plus.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
