Key Tasks

  • Hands-on integration of software and hardware components including software installation and configuration, network configuration, and telecommunications hardware integration.
  • Implements IT system solutions for networking, computing, and our propriety communications equipment including conceptional, functional, and physical views.
  • Conduct technical analysis of product implementations, modifications, and enhancements to products in accordance with specific customer specifications and implementations.
  • Conduct site surveys at customer locations to identify requirements for production and installation.
  • Prepare deliverable documentation describing site requirements and system configuration.
  • Install, service, and complete basic repairs of equipment at customer sites.
  • Integrate mission-critical systems components and perform system debug.
  • Conducts factory acceptance tests, site acceptance tests, failure location and analysis.
  • Supports system production team to troubleshoot and solve production issues.
  • Organize and provide detailed product and service training as necessary.
  • Solve complex field issues in coordination with the system engineering and development team.
  • Interface with customers.
  • Provide required reports to management staff, showing customer, type of equipment involved, status, and field resolution of complex service assignments.
  • May participate in remote system monitoring, maintenance, and tier 2 on call support. Key Qualifications
  • BS in Information Technology, Information Systems, Electrical Engineering/Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience with IT systems and engineering.
  • 3-9 years’ experience in Systems/Field Engineering integrating, deploying, and supporting integrated hardware and software solutions in the area of networking and communications.
  • Demonstrates the ability to implement and apply best-practice engineering concepts.
  • Excellent problem solving, analytical, and technical troubleshooting skills.
  • Highly organized with strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Operating Systems (RHEL, Windows)
  • Scripting languages (e.g., Bash, PowerShell, Perl, Python)
  • Log aggregation and reporting (ELK/Opensearch, Splunk)
  • Network analysis tools (Wireshark, Stablenet)
  • System monitoring tools (Zabbix, SNMP)
  • Virtualization (ESXi, KVM, Red Hat Virtualization)
  • System security management and intrusion detection tools (IdM, SSL, IPSec/VPN, SELinux, AIDE)
  • Telecommunications protocols (SIP/RTP, ED-137)
