Principal Quantitative UX Researcher The Role Are you customer obsessed? Do you enjoy working with people in a collaborative, team environment? Are you a data-driven UX Researcher with a passion for understanding user behavior and helping to deliver best-in-class experiences? Fidelity Investments’ UX Research & Design Strategy team is looking for a Principal Quantitative UX Researcher to join our team and help us improve our current and future digital products. This role will involve conducting quantitative user research studies, analyzing data, and generating actionable insights to enhance user experiences within the financial services industry. The UX Research & Design Strategy team rapidly develops a wide variety of new products to improve the financial wellbeing of Fidelity’s current and future customers. As part of an innovation engine for Fidelity Investments, our small cross functional team also scans emerging market opportunities to meet customers’ needs and make impact at scale. We are looking for a UX research professional who can use a variety of methods, both quantitative and qualitative, to assess and report on the user experience and make actionable recommendations for improvement. The ideal candidate with have experience in planning, conducting, and synthesizing exploratory, foundational, and evaluative design research. An ability to understand which methodology should be used and when, and a willingness to learn and try new methods as appropriate. They will have a deep desire to identify consumer insights that guide the product user experience direction. Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: Conduct quantitative user research studies, including quantitative task-based usability testing, pre-market A/B testing, tree testing, card sorting, and a variety of survey methodologies Design studies that address both user behaviors and attitudes and understand user mindsets Develop and implement test plans, using testing tools (such as UserTesting, Optimal Workshop, Qualtrics, and others as needed) Analyze quantitative research data using statistical techniques Synthesize research data to derive creative, actionable insights and opportunities and communicate the why through compelling storytelling Prepare clear and concise reports, present findings to stakeholders, and collaborate with cross-functional teams The Expertise and Skills You Bring Bachelor’s Degree and 5+ years of experience in user experience research and/or quantitative methods Ability to conduct analysis and use statistical methods and principals such as confidence intervals, margin of error, T-test, and ANOVA Experience with statistical software packages and tools such as R, SPSS, SAS, or Stats functions in Excel. Ability to generate cross-tabs, pivot tables, and charts and graphs Ability to collaborate with different kinds of team members and stakeholders, while also being a self-starter who can work independently Exceptional interpersonal, written, and oral communication, and relationship-building skills Project management experience (or equivalent demonstration of ability to track many streams and dependencies at once) A systems thinker who can see how one part will affect the whole Extremely organized with high attention to detail and strong ability to prioritize and manage time well Experience with MS Office Suite, especially Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook Experience with user research tools, such as User Testing, and with UX methodologies including card sorting, tree testing, and diary studies Experience using collaborative tools such as Mural, Miro, and/or Figma Willingness to learn new methods and tools
