We are looking for a Sr. UX Designer (Store-Based Loyalty Program / Tap-to-Pay)
Focus:
Store-based loyalty programs, mobile payment integration, smart receipt technologies, Tap-to-Pay. Customer-facing experiences within physical retail environments.
Candidates with experience with Loyalty Program UX, Retail Experiences UX (customer-facing), Mobile Payment UX, Digital Wallets, POS Interactions, In-store Touchpoints, Gamification (implied by “rewards”) will be ideal.
Candidate Profile:
Specific experience with loyalty programs and retail experiences (customer-facing).Strong portfolio demonstrating successful omnichannel experiences that bridge digital and physical touchpoints, especially concerning mobile payments.
Expertise in user research methodologies specifically for customer motivation.
Candidates with a background in consumer loyalty, retail tech, or fintech with a strong emphasis on in-store digital interactions. Portfolios demonstrating how they’ve made complex payment or loyalty flows intuitive.
We are seeking a UX Designer dedicated to an exploratory project being sponsored by our Engineering team. The focus will be on the evolution of a “Hack Week” winner concept for Smart Receipts, that is being evolved into a concept for a Tap-to-Pay based Loyalty Program.
We’re seeking a Senior UX Designer to lead the design and development of our store-based loyalty program. In this role, you’ll shape customer experiences that drive engagement and retention through innovative loyalty mechanics, mobile payment integration, and smart receipt technologies. You’ll create compelling end-to-end experiences that seamlessly blend digital and in-store touchpoints, making loyalty participation intuitive and rewarding for customers.
Core Responsibilities:
Lead the UX strategy for our store-based loyalty program, balancing business goals with customer needs and technological capabilitiesDefine the vision for how customers discover, join, engage with, and benefit from the product across all touch-pointsDevelop a roadmap for evolving the experience, prioritizing features based on customer impact and business valueAdvocate for customer-centered design principles throughout the organizationDesign intuitive onboarding flows that clearly communicate program benefits and drive sign-upsCreate seamless experiences for earning, tracking, and redeeming rewardsDevelop mobile payment integrations that simplify transactionsPerform competitive analysis of existing solutions to identify opportunities for differentiationExtend a cohesive design system to work across digital and physical touch-pointsDesign for accessibility to ensure the product is usable by all customersDevelop interaction models that work effectively in time-constrained retail environmentsPartner with product management to define requirements and success metricsWork closely with developers to ensure technical feasibility while maintaining design integrityCollaborate with marketing and commercial teams to align product experiences with brand positioningDevelop prototypes at varying fidelities to validate concepts with stakeholders and customersCreate detailed specifications and assets for implementation
Qualifications:
8+ years of UX design experience, with at least 3 years focused on loyalty programs, retail experiences, or fintech productsPortfolio demonstrating successful omnichannel experiences that bridge digital and physical touchpointsExperience designing for mobile payment systems, digital wallets, or POS interactionsStrong understanding of loyalty program mechanics and customer motivationExpertise in user research methodologies and the ability to translate insights into actionable design decisionsExcellent communication skills for articulating design rationale to diverse stakeholdersAbility to balance business requirements with customer needs and technical constraints
Tools & Technologies:
Proficiency in design and prototyping toolsExperience with usability testing platforms and methodologiesUnderstanding of mobile technologies including NFC, QR codes, and digital walletsFamiliarity with analytics platforms to measure engagement and conversionKnowledge of retail POS systems and receipt generation technologiesUnderstanding of data privacy considerations in loyalty program designThis role offers the opportunity to shape a core business initiative that directly impacts customer retention and revenue while pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in the loyalty space through innovative use of technology.
