Position Overview:
Team Ignite is seeking an experienced Web Developer / SharePoint Designer to support the U.S. Coast Guard ISD mission by designing, developing, and managing web-based applications and SharePoint environments that enhance user collaboration, improve access to information, and align with the Coast Guard’s strategic objectives. This role requires a combination of technical web development skills and SharePoint platform expertise to deliver modern, secure, and user-friendly solutions. The developer will work closely with stakeholders, content owners, and IT personnel to analyze needs, develop content strategies, and implement solutions that optimize performance, usability, and security.

U.S. Coast Guard Aviation Logistics Center (ALC) – Information Systems Division (ISD)
Elizabeth City, NC Clearance Requirement:
Must be able to obtain a favorable Tier 1 background investigation (for unclassified systems)
Key Responsibilities:
Design, build, and modify dynamic, interactive websites and web applications based on user requirements and organizational objectives. Analyze user and organizational needs to develop optimized web layouts, content structures, workflows, and performance strategies. Design and develop SharePoint sites, lists, libraries, forms, workflows, dashboards, and customized solutions using SharePoint Designer and other development tools. Create responsive user interfaces using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery, and modern frameworks. Integrate websites and SharePoint sites with other enterprise systems and data sources as needed. Assist in the migration of content from legacy systems to SharePoint, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and metadata tagging. Develop site templates and documentation to support standardization, governance, and user adoption. Conduct testing and deployment of web and SharePoint solutions in a structured DevSecOps environment. Train users and administrators on new features, workflows, and system capabilities. Respond to help desk tickets and resolve web/SharePoint-related issues in a timely manner. Maintain and refine user permissions, SharePoint groups, and site security in coordination with the lead developer. This position is pending contract award.

Senior Level Education:
Bachelor’s or Associate degree in Computer Science, IT, Math, Engineering, or a related field; or a recognized IT Certification. Five (5) years of experience may be substituted for two (2) years of formal education.
Experience:
Minimum five (5) years of hands-on experience in web development, including HTML, JavaScript/jQuery, and Web Services integration. Minimum five (5) years of SharePoint development experience, including SharePoint Designer, workflows, and site customization. Minimum two (2) years of experience in an Agile DevSecOps development environment and methodologies. Minimum two (2) years of experience with Kubernetes, Jira, Confluence, and Bitbucket (or equivalent). Must be able to obtain a favorable Tier 1 background investigation.
Additional Qualifications:
Strong understanding of user experience (UX) design and responsive web design principles. Excellent troubleshooting skills and attention to detail. Ability to communicate technical solutions clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences. Experience creating system documentation and user training materials. Familiarity with DoD IT environments and content governance frameworks is preferred.
