The Department of Media and Design at Lander University seeks applicants for a full-time Assistant Professor/Lecturer or Visiting Assistant Professor/Lecturer of Graphic Design, beginning August 15, 2025. Teaching responsibilities include introductory and upper-level undergraduate courses in graphic design, motion design, web design, and/or design history/theory, as well as overseeing internships. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud applications, design and typography fundamentals, web design, UI/UX, and motion graphics. The candidate must be an excellent communicator, a team player, and be enthusiastic to contribute to collaborative efforts in recruitment, retention, and overall departmental growth. The successful candidate will be committed to teaching excellence and able to work effectively with a diverse student population.

Requirements:

Applicants must have earned a terminal degree (MFA or equivalent) in graphic design, visual communication and media, or related field, with a focus on design fundamentals, /web and interactive design, and research-based design methodologies. Applicants should also have experience teaching at the university level. Preference will be given to candidates with demonstrated expertise in experience design, branding, information graphics, and professional practice. Decisions regarding the type of position being offered (visiting status as well as assistant or lecturer designation) will be made during the interview process based upon candidate qualifications.
