Description
The Software & Web Developer evaluates, designs and develops new and existing software applications, back-end components, connects the application with other web services, and assists with front-end developers by ensuring the work integrates with the application(s).

RESPONSIBILITIES

Conduct in-depth reviews and analyses of the existing custom PHP codebase to evaluate current functionalities.
Engage in a variety of future projects ranging from resolving user-reported issues, enhancing existing functionalities, to the development of new functionalities and comprehensive modules.
Design, develop, and maintain dynamic web applications and web services (APIs), employing the latest versions of PHP.
Transition and upgrade legacy systems from PHP 5.5 to PHP 8.
Create and manage database objects to interface with front-end and middle-tier applications.
Lead technology discussions and conduct assessments to identify gaps in meeting business requirements.
Manage databases, primarily focusing on MySQL, with additional responsibilities involving MSSQL and Oracle.
Adhere to coding standards by applying industry best practices.
Collaborate with stakeholders to capture and understand business requirements.
Document technical requirements and design specifications.
Ensure the quality of project deliverables.
Undertake additional duties as needed.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems or a related field.
At least 5 years of experience in PHP, MySQL, CSS, HTML, JavaScript, jQuery, AJAX, and XML.
Skilled in constructing database objects, including views, procedures, functions, and managing schema and data migrations.
Proficient with MVC frameworks, notably Laravel and CodeIgniter.
Experience in UI/UX responsive design using HTML (Bootstrap).
Advanced proficiency in GIT, including distributed version control.
Experienced in both consuming and publishing SOAP and RESTful APIs.
Comfortable with Linux command line operations.
Proficiency in the following technologies:

PHP, JavaScript, TypeScript, Bash Script

Programming Principles:
SOLID, DRY, TDD, PSR
Frameworks:

Laravel, Bootstrap, Tailwind, Livewire

Databases:

MySQL, MS SQL Server, Oracle Database

PhpStorm, VS Code, Git, VirtualBox, Docker, Composer, Node.js, webpack, jQuery

Styling:

CSS, Sass

Web Servers:

Nginx, Apache

Operating Systems:

RedHat, Windows 11
Additional skills that will be considered a plus include PDFlib, CodeIgniter, and Photoshop expertise.
