You are invited to become a thought Leader on a team that is passionate about building Cloud first re-usable services and scalable architectures. The primary purpose of this role is to lead development resources and participate in the efforts to solve complex technical problems to deliver vital, reliable product features to our customers. You will be hands-on, planning, developing, deploying and releasing solutions in an agile environment. You will help develop people for the long term, recruiting, training, promoting and advocating for your direct reports. The job duties will be split between 80% technical and 20% managerial.

Responsibilities:
  • Architect and lead development of technical solutions that are secure, robust, performant, and scalable
  • Employ technical and thought leadership to drive products from inception to release
  • Write high quality, well-tested, readable and maintainable code that is a model for others to follow
  • Work with stakeholders to ensure the solution meets business needs
  • Balance engineering costs of development, testing, deployment complexity, and run-time cost, to deliver optimum value for the business and customers
  • Participate in resource forecasting and allocation of software engineers and quality engineers across Product and Platform Teams
  • Responsible for people development, resource management and enhancing overall productivity
  • Identify and recruit internal/external talents to ensure effective mix of competencies
  • Implement measurable technical development plans and coach individuals to reach their maximum talent
  • Provide regular constructive feedback on coding, performance, development and address performance issues in a timely manner

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Computer Science, or equivalent work experience
  • Exceptional communication skills
Experience:
  • 12+ total years of significant hands-on experience in several competence areas such as web service/API development (C#/.NET), database, and devops
  • 7+ years of experience in each of the following
  • Service-oriented architectures and microservices
  • System performance analysis and tuning
  • Relational database development
  • Version control and continuous integration
  • Agile software development life cycle from concept to delivery
  • Architecting scalable, web-based solutions for caching, retry, asynchronous processing, etc.
  • Leadership in root cause analysis and risk mitigation
  • 5+ years of experience in one or more of the following
  • Distributed systems and cloud computing (Azure, AWS, etc)
  • Document storage technologies (MongoDB, AWS S3, etc.)
  • Messaging systems (Azure Service Bus, AWS SQS, ActiveMQ, etc.)
  • 4-7 years relevant leadership experience (Preferred)
