The ideal candidate will have a passion for creating innovative, interactive and user-friendly websites and should be highly proficient developing in the WordPress platform. This developer would be working very closely on a team with four other developers, and would be reporting directly to the Director of Web Development.

Responsibilities:

Develop, maintain and support current WordPress & WooCommerce based websites Collaborate with design and development teams to ensure that the design and functionality of websites meet customer requirements/expectations Customize and extend the functionality of WordPress through plugins and themes Optimize websites for speed, scalability, and security Troubleshoot technical issues and provide technical support to clients Stay up-to-date with the latest developments and technologies in WordPress development

Requirements:

On location work at our office in Pembroke, NH. This is NOT a remote position. 5+ years of experience developing in WordPress. We will require you to submit a sample portfolio of WordPress sites you have built and sample theme and/or plugin code we can review. Experience with WooCommerce e-commerce platform Strong understanding of HTML, CSS, PHP, JavaScript, and the WordPress framework. Experience with custom theme and/or plugin development Good understanding of website performance optimization techniques and website security as it relates to WordPress. Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment Preferred but not required Understanding of WordPress gutenberg block framework & development. Knowledge and experience working with Github for code management and deployment. Experience with Elementor framework and custom development using Elementor with WordPress.

Education:

A bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering or a related field is preferred but not mandatory.
