Senior Engineer (Multiple Positions) – Shopify (USA) Inc. (New York, NY).Turn product roadmaps into scalable and cost-effective software for global commerce. Apply appropriate design patterns to improve the team’s capacity for delivering high-quality code. Contribute to work estimates, prioritization, and alignment with Product Management to ensure well-defined projects. Tackle ambiguous or poorly defined problems, providing technical direction and fostering alignment within specific problem spaces. Contribute to the completion of projects through writing and reviewing code, technical design, and collaboration. Balance trade-offs effectively to ship solutions aligned with long-term goals and Shopify engineering principles and patterns. Mentor and ramp up other developers, and foster a culture of continuous learning and growth. Collaborate effectively with peers across disciplines, representing the team in technical planning and establishing new software patterns. Telecommuting permitted from any location in the U.S. up to 100%.

SALARY:

$170,000 – $321,860 base salary per year.

WORK SCHEDULE

40 hours per week, M-F (9:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.)

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Must have a Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology/Systems, or related field, and 2 years of related work experience.

Of the required experience, must have 2 years of experience with the following: Building full-stack web services using languages and frameworks, including Ruby on Rails, Java/JEE, PHP, Python, GraphQL, Node.js, React, or Golang; Datasets and deriving insights from data sources; Developing software using AWS, GCP, or Azure; Building and scaling applications using Ruby on Rails, Python, PHP, Node.js, Java, or ASP.Net; and Using relational database and scripting languages to derive insights.
