• Hybrid work WordPress/Laravel Developer We are seeking a skilled and motivated PHP/JS (WordPress and Laravel) Developer to work as an independent contractor, collaborating with our team on a broad range of projects related to developing, maintaining, improving, and providing support for a consumer-facing website with e-commerce functionality and educational content.

The qualified candidate will assist with DevOps, including provisioning, operations, and management of AWS environments. Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills are required. This is a great opportunity for a well-rounded and flexible self-starter who can work independently, as well as work as part of a small team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with our team to develop, maintain, improve, and support a consumer-facing website.
• On the WordPress CMS, assist with both front-end and back-end development, including the implementation of themes, plugins, and APIs.
• In Laravel, continue development on existing sites and site maintenance/upgrade for new service packs.
• Assist with AWS DevOps, including services supporting our company’s systems: SES, SQS, SNS, S3, Elastic BeanStalk, RDS, CodePipeline, WAF.
• Experience with version control using Git and repository management using Git Hub.
• Perform QA and user acceptance testing.
• Interface and provide technical assistance to our customer support team in fielding customer questions.

Documentation:

develop and maintain clear, comprehensive technical and end-user documentation.

Website Optimization:

Test, troubleshoot, and optimize website.

• Stay up to date with industry trends and emerging technologies.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Experience and proficiency in WordPress, Laravel, AWS services, and Git.
• Experience with e-commerce systems a plus, specifically WooCommerce.
• Experience with database management and data analysis is a plus.
• Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices, including data protection, access controls, encryption, and compliance regulations.
• Familiarity with additional languages such as Python, SQL, YAML.
• Bachelor’s and/or advanced degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent work experience.

$55.00 – $100.00 per hour
