May 21, 2025 The Office of Workforce Development (OWD) at the Technical College System of Georgia is seeking a skilled and adaptable Webmaster to manage and maintain our digital presence, ensuring an engaging, user-friendly, and ADA-compliant experience for all visitors. This role is responsible for the development, maintenance, and optimization of our WordPress-based website and internal Intranet, requiring expertise in HTML, JavaScript, and web accessibility (ADA compliance). The ideal candidate is a problem-solver with strong technical and communication skills, capable of adapting to evolving digital trends while ensuring website performance, security, and compliance.

Responsibilities :

• Work with the OWD Communications Team, IT and others to develop and update information on Workforce websites. Ensure the site and all pages are following design standards (UX and UI) and are ADA (WCAG 2.1) accessible and compliant. Work with all Local Workforce Development Areas to coordinate web pages. Build and maintain online forms if needed. Remain up to date with the latest web techniques and technologies with a passion to learn and use new skills. Regularly audit and improve website accessibility. Perform required updates of software, plug-ins, and themes while maintaining brand consistency. Secures site against illegal intrusion and abuse, manages site backups/recoveries, and mitigates and reports any suspicious or illegal activity. Implement best practices for SEO and web analytics tracking. Manage site creation, framework development, SSL certificate installation•including domain and subdomain management at the server/host level and creating and mapping redirects. Manage and update OWD’s intranet, ensuring it serves as an effective internal communication tool. Troubleshoot and resolve website issues, bugs, and performance bottlenecks. Executes additional duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications :

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Web Development, Marketing, Communications, Journalism, English, or other related field •and• two years’ experience in web management. Proficiency in WordPress or proprietary CMS development, administration, and customization. Strong knowledge of HTML, JavaScript, CSS, and responsive web design. Experience with ADA compliance and accessibility standards (WCAG 2.1). Familiarity with Intranet management and internal communication platforms. Understanding of SEO best practices and analytics tools (Google Analytics, Search Console). Ability to troubleshoot and resolve web-related technical issues. Knowledge of website security measures and performance optimization. Strong problem-solving skills, adaptability, and attention to detail. Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with web hosting environments, DNS management, and CDN services. Familiarity with PHP, MySQL, and API integrations. Knowledge of UX/UI design principles. Experience in a corporate or educational setting managing an Intranet.
