Job Description:

As an integral part of the Marketing and Communications team, the Webmaster and Content Strategist provides technical leadership working closely with all the other functional teams within Marketing & Communications, to develop the best possible front-end web pages and back-end systems for the College while maintaining high standards of quality and performance. We seek an experienced and proactive Webmaster and Content Strategist to oversee our website’s functionality, maintain its content integrity, and strategize engaging content that drives user engagement and meets organizational goals. The ideal candidate will combine technical web expertise with strategic content development capabilities.

Job Responsibilities:
Web Management:

Oversee daily operations and maintenance of the organization’s website, ensuring optimal performance, security, and user experience
Manage website updates, including content uploads, formatting, and troubleshooting technical issues
Regularly monitor website analytics to assess performance and identify opportunities for improvement

Content Strategy:

Develop and implement a comprehensive web content strategy aligned with organizational goals and audience engagement objectives
Collaborate with internal stakeholders to create relevant, engaging, and timely content
Plan content calendars, manage editorial workflows, and ensure voice, tone, and messaging consistency.
Optimize content for SEO, accessibility, and user engagement

Technical Skills:

Perform routine updates and manage CMS (Content Management System), plug-ins, and integrations
Collaborate with developers and IT to implement site enhancements and troubleshoot issues
Ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices for security and accessibility

Analytics & Reporting:

Provide regular analytics reports and actionable insights on web performance and content engagement
Recommend and implement data-driven strategies to enhance user experience and achieve key performance indicators (KPIs)

Requirements:
Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Marketing, Communications, or related field
3-5 years of experience managing websites, content strategies, or digital marketing
Proficiency in website analytics tools (Google Analytics, SEMrush, or similar)
Strong knowledge of

HTML/CSS, SEO

best practices, and web accessibility standards
Excellent writing, editing, and organizational skills

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with CMS platforms (WordPress, Drupal, Joomla, etc.)
Familiarity with basic graphic design and video editing software (Adobe Suite)
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines

Classification:

The Webmaster and Content Manager is a UUP position. The anticipated salary will be $72,000 to $85,000 with an outstanding benefits package (for more information, please see the UUP-FT-Benefits-at-a-Glance-Jan-2025 ).
