  • City of Portland – Airport Operations Coordinator
  • Aviation & Transportation DepartmentSign on Bonus of $1,500 available to an external candidate andrelocation offered.

Under the direction of the Airport Operations Manager, the OperationsCoordinator provides centralized security and communications oversightfor the airport while working in the 24/7/365 Airport Operations Center.

The primary duties of this position include monitoring surveillancevideo, access control, alarms, mass notification systems,weather-related equipment, phones, and radios. Airport OperationsCoordinators assist with terminal inspections, TSA & FAA inspections,aircraft gate assignments, irregular operations, tests and audits aswell as assisting airport management on matters involving safety,security, and customer service. Acting as Trusted Agents, AirportOperations Coordinators are responsible for viewing, recording, andprocessing background checks for airport badge holders. AirportOperations Coordinators work holidays, rotating shifts, and are subjectto mandatory overtime call-ins.

  • Requirements:
  • All employment candidates must possess a working knowledge of FAA andTSA rules and regulations.

MS Office Suite and Google Workspace competency.

Excellent organizational and communication (written and verbal) skills.

The willingness to always go above and beyond providing exceptionalcustomer service to both internal and external customers (airporttenants, the general public, and City, State and Federal agencies) arealso required.

Candidates must be able to demonstrate proficiency in airfield drivingand FAA Part 139 inspection criteria upon completion of a six monthprobationary period.

Candidates must be able to pass all local and federal backgroundinvestigations, specifically TSA Regulation 49 CFR, Part 1542 aspublished in the Federal Registrar.

Possess a valid U.S. State Drivers License, or the ability to obtain onesubject to employment.

Additional consideration will be given to candidates who possess aBachelors Degree in Airport Management or comparable airport relatedexperience, experience at a commercial non-hub or larger airport in thefields of Airport Operations, Airport Security, or other applicableexperience.
