- Airport Operations Manager
- conducts detailed planning and organization along with other administrative functions related to maintaining a safe, secure, and compliant airport. The Operations Manager is responsible for directing the required planning, coordination, and supervision of all Security, Operations, and Maintenance tasks related to controlling the airport to ensure continuous operation 24/7/365.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Coordinate and direct the continuous compliance with FAA Part 139 and TSA Part 1542 regulations, other applicable federal/state regulations, the Airport Certification Manual and other airport-issued rules, regulations, policies, and proceduresDirectly supervise Airport Rescue Fire Fighting (ARFF)/Security, Operations, and Maintenance staff including oversight of all activities related to effective hiring, scheduling, performance management, regulated training requirements, and equipment acquisitionResponsible for preparation, implementation and maintenance of airport policies, programs, and procedures related to airfield operations including the Airport Certification Manual, the Airport Emergency Plan, and the Wildlife Hazard Management Plan; plus, the coordination of regulated training requirements associated with each programAdminister Department of Environmental Quality Industrial Storm Water Permit and reporting along with HAZMAT spill prevention programOversee Environmental Control ProgramsPerform or provide oversight for Airport workplace health and safety activitiesPerform detailed review of airfield inspection reports for all facilities and equipment required by FAA Part 139 standards; manage the Airport NOTAM programFormulate and execute plans, procedures and for emergency response in the event of aircraft or other airport-related emergenciesPerform financial activities including preparing the ARFF/Security, Operations, and Maintenance budget, by preparing requisitions and purchasing forms for operations and soliciting and evaluating quotes for capital outlay purchasesMonitor a variety of computerized systems including but not limited to the Security Management System, Security Surveillance System, Fire Alarm and Suppressor System, Jet Bridges, and Baggage Handling SystemFacilitate positive external relations with all airport tenants and other airport stakeholdersAttend airport authority and other professional meetings, training and conferences as neededPerform other duties as assigned by the Airport Director or required for the Airport Terminal and Facilities Manager•
EDUCATION, LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION OR OTHER REQUIREMENTS
- Completion of a bachelor’s degree in airport management, engineering or related aviation field or equivalent combination of education and experience in the airport environmentACE Operations qualification from the American Association of Airport Executives preferredPrior completion of OSHA 30-hour general industry course or ability to complete course within 180 days of employmentMust be able to successfully complete a criminal background check and complete training consistent with TSA and airport-related security requirements to obtain and maintain an airport issued SIDA security badgeMust possess a current valid NC Driver’s License•
EXPERIENCE
- Candidate must have at least (5) years combined experience in airport operations with progressive management and supervisory responsibilities or an equivalent combination of education, knowledge, experience and related aeronautical skills and experienceExperience and knowledge of aviation safety, ARFF operations/training and risk managementPilot experience a positive
