Leadership Full Job Description Overview:

The Airport Operations Director•Regulatory Compliance is responsible for the strategic leadership of all regulatory and compliance functions within airport operations at Charlotte Douglas International Airport (CLT). This role manages Airside Operations (FAR Part 139), Security Operations (TSA 1542), training standardization, performance audits, operational readiness testing, and stakeholder coordination with federal partners including FAA, TSA, and CBP.

Lead compliance with Federal Aviation Regulation (FAR) Part 139, including inspections, airfield risk mitigation, and airside safety operations. Serve as the Airport Security Coordinator; manage

compliance, credentialing, and security audits. Develop and maintain standard operating procedures, policies, and training standards across the Operations Division. Administer the Division’s audit, compliance, and performance metric programs including KPIs. Direct readiness and testing activities under the ORAT (Operational Readiness and Activation) framework. Serve as liaison with federal partners and regulatory bodies (FAA, TSA, CBP). Oversee divisional continuity of operations and ensure compliance documentation is current. Supervise regulatory operations staff and promote professional development and succession planning. Manage compliance-related budgets and procurement as needed.

Qualifications:
Education & Experience:

Master’s degree and five (5) years of experience; OR Bachelor’s degree and seven (7) years of experience. Related fields include airport operations, compliance, aviation safety/security. At least three (3) years of leadership or supervisory experience required.

Preferred Qualifications:

Accredited Airport Executive (AAE) or ACE certification preferred. Experience leading FAA or TSA audits or investigations. Knowledge of CBP and international passenger facilitation programs a plus. See link in brochure to full Job Description for more details.
