$23.00 – $34.63 Commensurate with Experience SUMMARY The Landside Operations Coordinator provides operational support for the Landside Operations Division. This position is responsible for the enforcement of ground transportation rules and regulations. This position assists with parking lot operations, monitoring and inspecting airport roadways and curbside areas. This position requires the ability to act decisively and exercise independent judgment within established rules, regulations and procedures.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Provide support to the Landside Operations Division. This includes parking operations, ground transportation, bus operations and curbside support. 2. Responsible for completing inspections of parking decks, parking lots, curbside and roadways. Complete the appropriate work orders and escalate to supervisor/manager. Recognize any safety hazards and use appropriate precautions. 3. Monitor parking decks, parking lots, airport curbside and airport roadways to ensure customers’ needs are being met. Address questions and resolve concerns and problems, issue citation to violators of the airport rules and regulations. 4. Ensure the smooth and efficient flow of traffic, directing traffic as needed to alleviate congestion. Provide accurate information to the public. Respond to requests for service in accordance with policies and procedures. 5. Assist passengers and work public areas during irregular operations, such as inclement weather, holidays, special events and airport emergencies. 6. Coordinate contracted staff during peak periods to ensure adequate transportation is available, increase ground transportation taxi services as deemed necessary. 7. Inspect airport permitted taxi cabs to ensure compliance with contractual rules and in accordance with Chapters 4 and 22 of city ordinances. Complete related paperwork such as vehicle inspection reports and vehicle work orders. 8. Monitor taxi flow in the commercial lane, facilitate taxi and shuttle loading for a smooth flow of traffic. Ensure that Taxis, Shuttles, TNC, Hotel/Motel and all commercial lane users in compliance with the airport rules and regulations 9. Advise supervisory and management staff of operational concerns and recommend changes to areas such as staffing levels, safety hazards and maintenance issues. 10. Provide support in the permitting process for companies and vehicles under Ground Transportation Operating Agreements including inspections and affixing decals and transponders. Monitor the use of TNC and Taxi staging lot, the commercial lane, hourly parking deck and Airport roadways to ensure commercial operators abide by the rules and regulations. 11. Monitor parking products and contract staff. Report issues and observations to supervisor/manager. 12. Other duties, as assigned.
COMPETENCIES FOR SUCCESSFUL PERFORMANCE OF JOB DUTIES
Knowledge of:
Commercial Driver rules and regulations. Customer Service principles.
Skill to:
Communicate clearly and effectively verbally in person, over telephone and two-way radio. Effectively using Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook, and the ability to learn job specific software and systems.
Ability to:
Analyze problems and find effective solutions in a fast-paced environment. Deal tactfully and courteously with the public, represent the airport in a positive, professional manner, and establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, tenants and contractors. This position requires the availability to work any assigned shift in a 24/7/365 schedule and is subject to overtime, calls back to work for emergency situations and work during inclement weather.
Minimum Qualifications:
High School diploma or equivalent and 3 year(s) of relevant experience; or 2 Year College Degree and 1 year of relevant experience
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working in landside operations or an airport environment.
