The ideal candidate will be passionate about providing safe and reliable transportation for children, ensuring their comfort and security while on the bus. As a Bus Driver, you will play a crucial role in the daily lives of students by transporting them to and from school and other activities. Duties Safely operate a school bus or van, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations. Ensure the safety of all passengers during transit by conducting pre-trip inspections and maintaining the vehicle in good working order. Educate students on proper bus behavior and safety protocols. Communicate effectively with students, parents, and school staff regarding schedules and any changes. Assist children as needed while boarding and disembarking from the bus. Maintain a clean and organized vehicle environment. Handle any emergencies or unexpected situations calmly and efficiently. Keep accurate records of routes, mileage, and passenger counts. Requirements Valid commercial driving license (CDL) with appropriate endorsements for bus driving. Completed Palm Beach County School Bus Driver course Experience in school bus driving or commercial driving is preferred. Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with children and adults alike. Multilingual abilities are a plus to better serve diverse communities. Background in childcare or experience working with children is highly desirable. Ability to educate students on safety practices while fostering a positive atmosphere on the bus.
