SPED Bus Driver•Mooreville Route
JOB GOALS
To provide safe and efficient transportation to and from school.
To support the delivery of Lee County Schools District written, taught, tested and reported curriculum and contribute to maximizing student achievement.
To ensure the reflection and communication of a positive image and attitude toward decisions and functions of the district as they relate to the public, staff, parents, and students.
QUALIFICATIONS
Holds Current Commercial Drivers license (CDL) with proper endorsements.
Has such additional health and age requirements as the board/state may require.
Displays ability to work with staff, students, parents, and general public.
Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable
REPORTS TO
Transportation director or designee
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
Observes all regulations regarding appearance, relationship to pupils, traffic safety and inspection of the bus as found in Mississippi Pupil Transportation Handbook prepared by Division of School Building and Transportation of the Mississippi Department of Education.
Reports concerns, maintenance needs and other pertinent information on needs to the Transportation director or designee.
Reports pupil misconduct to the principal of the school the pupil attends.
Assumes responsibility for transported pupil’s behavior when pupils are waiting to be transported at a school or other designated transfer location.
Attends refresher training and/or all other training required by the district or MS Dept. of Transportation to maintain certification.
Picks up and discharges students only at regular/authorized stops.
Reports all accidents and completes required paperwork.
Completes and turns in all paperwork including but not limited to bus evacuation drills, list of students, daily log, etc.
Completes and successfully passes random drug test as required by LCS District.
Maintains high standards, ethical behavior and confidentiality of student issues.
Exemplifies strong work ethics and professionalism (i.e. promptness, attendance and professional dress).
OTHER DUTIES
Performs other duties as assigned.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
The salary and length of contract shall be established by the Board of Education.
