School Bus Driver Job Summary:

As a School Bus Driver, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe transportation of students to and from school. You will be responsible for operating a school bus along designated routes, adhering to strict safety regulations, and maintaining a friendly and supportive environment for the students. Your commitment to punctuality, attention to safety, and excellent communication skills will make you an essential part of our school community.

Responsibilities:

Safely operate a school bus and transport students to and from school, following predetermined routes and schedules. Ensure the well-being of students during transportation, maintaining a safe and respectful environment Comply with all traffic laws and safety guidelines while driving, and enforce bus safety rules with students. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the bus to ensure it is in good working condition. Communicate effectively with students, parents, and school staff to provide updates on transportation schedules and any relevant information. Handle minor disciplinary issues on the bus and report significant incidents to the appropriate school authorities. Attend regular training sessions and meetings to stay updated on safety protocols and school policies.

Requirements:

Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with school and passenger endorsements. Clean driving record with no history of major violations. High school diploma or equivalent. Excellent driving skills and a keen sense of responsibility for the safety of passengers. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work well with children and maintain a positive and supportive atmosphere on the bus. Flexibility in accommodating changes to bus routes or schedules. Pass a background check and drug screening.
