The ideal candidate will assist drivers in the transportation of goods, ensuring timely and safe delivery. This role requires effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. A background in freight handling, warehouse operations, or experience with various vehicle types such as flatbeds, vans, or tow trucks is beneficial. Responsibilities Assist the driver in loading and unloading freight from the vehicle. Ensure all items are secured properly for transport. Communicate effectively with the driver regarding delivery schedules and routes. Help navigate and provide directions to the driver as needed. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the vehicle. Support in performing pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle. Handle manual transmission vehicles when necessary. Assist with any additional tasks related to transportation and delivery. Skills Experience with flatbed trucks, van driving, or tow truck operations is a plus. Strong communication skills to relay information clearly between team members. Familiarity with paratransit services is advantageous. Ability to work efficiently in a warehouse setting. Basic knowledge of freight handling procedures. Capability to drive various types of vehicles, including manual transmission models. A military background may be beneficial due to discipline and teamwork experience.
