Team! The Document Courier is responsible for the accurate and timely completion of the pick-up and drop-off of medical charts during their assigned courier routes. Document Couriers are also responsible from the beginning to the end of their assigned routes to ensure all established policies and procedures are followed. In addition, Document Couriers quickly communicate all issues that impact the quality or timely completion of the process to the Supervisor.

Schedule:

Tuesday – Thursday 8:00am – 4:30pm

Essential Functions:

Meet safely and timely pick-up and drop-off routes from office to facility and facility to office as needed. Ensure accurate collection of all items from specified locations according to scheduled routes or ad-hoc requests. Walk facility floors as needed to retrieve charts directly from designated stations. Communicate with Supervisor/Team Leads to report delays or issues. Ability to pick up medical records from 5 – 50 pounds to load onto hand cart. Ensure compliance with safety procedures, traffic laws and company policies. Use handheld devices or route sheets to track pick up locations. Timely report any issues with the company vehicle to the Supervisor/Team Leads, if they arise. Adhere to extremely strict HIPAA and confidentiality policies at all times. Display effective and professional communication with internal and external customers. Adhere to all policies, guidelines, programs, and procedures in the employee handbook. Participate in periodic team meetings as necessary. Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

Must be able to communicate (both written and oral) clearly, proactively and concisely with all key stakeholders, manage their time by organizing and completing work within given deadlines, and make critical decisions while following company policies, guidelines, and procedures. Document Couriers must also be able to adapt to change in environment and/or circumstances with a positive outlook and adjusting effectively to work within new work structures, processes, requirements, and/or cultures. Must independently take prompt proactive steps towards problem resolution and able to pay attention to details in order to perform work accurately and thoroughly. In addition, Document Couriers must have the ability to establish and maintain long-term customer relationships, building trust and respect by consistently meeting and exceeding expectations.

ADDITIONAL SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS

Must have a valid driver’s license and a good driving record. Must have either a high school diploma or general education degree (GED) with a minimum of 6 months to 1-year related experience preferred. General knowledge of computers, scanners, and office equipment preferred. Thorough knowledge of federal and state information regulations and medical record keeping requirements. Must be able to pass pre-employment screening and driving history background based on Hospital and Company guidelines and policies

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This position is performed in an office setting within a hospital or warehouse environment. Long periods of sitting and or standing may be required at times. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. Perform visits to hospital floor for chart retrievals, as required.
