Library Courier **Weekends** Position Available In St. Johns, Florida

Library Courier •Weekends•Staffing of St. Augustine Saint Augustine, FL 32086 Seeking a part-time library courier for the St. Johns County Public Library System. This is a contract position. This position is Friday-Sunday. Pay $13.98/hr The duties include: Load and unload van for deliveries. Deliver crates of books and other materials, including items of value, to libraries and agencies on a set schedule. Transport library supplies and equipment to and from a wide variety of sites; delivers those items to the appropriate building. Perform very basic maintenance on van and other Library vehicles.

For example:

pumps gas, cleans windshield, check oil, check air pressure on tires, takes vehicles to car wash as needed; report any maintenance/repairs to Library Administration; may arrange to have any maintenance/repair work done, as assigned; may deliver vehicles to shop for repairs, as assigned. Commitment and ability to complete deliveries in a timely fashion and without immediate supervision. Ability to work flexible schedule.

Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent. Valid Class “E” Florida Driver’s License. Must be able to read, speak, and comprehend the English language. Must possess good interpersonal and communication skills. Knowledge of safe driving habits and procedures, including knowledge of motor vehicle laws and regulations. Ability to recognize and effectively handle dangerous traffic situations and hazardous road conditions. Physical capacity to lift loaded crates or other items weighing up to 60 pounds, wheeled dollies and carts with loads weighing up to 100lbs and carry loaded crates and other items.

Schedule:

Friday-Sat 8:30 am – 1:30 pm Sunday 8:30pm-1:30 pm Occasionally fill in for other courier vacation/sick
